This looks interesting, but wouldn't it be easier to convert alpha bravo? He is nearly there already and the nose and head are passable as blastoff with a bit of paint.

I know man, I don't like two arms looking too similar but yeah that might turn out to be a better choice after all.

The problem is that the nose of the helicopter mold ends up on the wrists of arm mode, while it's more iconic for Blast Off's vehicle front to be on Bruticus' shoulder.

I guess you could say that it'd still be better than having a different altmode though.

Or having another bot's unique head. That Blast Off head is a must-have!

    Best material? Gotcha!

How close is it in comparison to the actual toy texture?

    This set looks great!

Its kinda irritating to think that this was all hasbro had to do to make blastoff passable... and they didn't do it. :S

The new part looks awesome, hope it will be better than the Takara ones =0

    A little thought

Maybe a pair of wings that can plug into the 5mm peg on the hand in alt mode, which also turn into pair of melee weapon?

Problem with replacing the wings on the Firefly mold is they're held in by pins, something most folks aren't comfortable with doing. It's the same with the nosecone section. If it were me designing an upgrade for Blastoff I'd do away with the entire back section as it's held in by screws. The back wings are pegged in so they could be replaced with... something. Engines maybe? If you want a smaller backpack you could break the nosecone up into three parts formed from the back and some new arms.

But all this is pretty ambitious, and I don't expect anyone outside of the 3rd party scene to easily accomplish it, but thought you might like some ideas to work off of.

This is really really nice. That being said, the box bio did enough to rectify this for me, which is strange. "Uh yeah, turns out being the only member of your team in low earth orbit leaves you susceptible to ambush. Time to pick an altmode that keeps you close to the team."

I love this mod man, and if made available will buy it for my blast off, but honestly, there is a lot you will have to do to get this to blastoff level. He needs some serious work on his wings and his tail. I dont know if the tail flaps can be removed but if you can, you can attach the thrusters in those slots, that will help big time with the look. Maybe make a clip on tail extension. No idea what you can do with the wings. They are pinned in, most people stay away from that on mods. That said, a replacement back portion may be easier for you.
