With this I used dyed plastic parts. All the blue and all the black (except the forearms) are dyed so that there won't be any paint rubbing. This is especially needed for the shoulder pylons since all they do is slide against plastic. Paint there would peel right off.
That looks so epic! I've been waiting to see someone attempt to do a Powered Convoy repaint out of CW UM. Have you painted Ambus in the blue Convoy cab colors as well?
Beautiful work as always Cheetimus! I really love the colour scheme of Powered convoy it doesn't get enough homages.
Awesome work! But Minimus Ambus should've been painted as Dominus Ambus instead of Powered Buggy IMO.
If I can find a cheap UM I'd do this in an instant. I love PC's scheme. Or I'd just take yours. Gimme.
Can you explain the dye method you used or point me to a tutorial please? I've tried dying a few figures before and the results have always been "meh" at best.
Beautiful ! I really hope TT releases this deco as well. Not just because I find the Powered Convoy colours to be better looking than the standard Magnus colors (although the TT version does look very good), but it just fits so very well, especially with the little car companion. (Not too crazy about the yellow and silver on that one.) That, I think, would be a bad choice and I'm happy he didn't do that, but made it more accurate to the source. Diaclone Powered Convoy came with a small red car, Powered Buggy, and Minimus Ambus is a perfect fit for that.
Hey i just saw your Powered Buggy homage i think Ambus was loosely modelled after it anyhow thats why it works so well
