Hello people. This is my first custom. Been doing scale modelling since kid (30 now), mostly planes. This is the first time I attempt painting a transformer figure. A few days ago I found this KO version of rotf devy. After seing what some talented people did with this figure, and because this is a cheap toy I decided to take the risk and paint him. I`m going to start with Scrapper. No special reason, just was the first one I took out of the tray were I keep my to do figures. Figure was dissassembled and primed. Just this for the moment. I`ll try to post the progress ( and do some progress). Any sugestions from people who wave done this before?? Thanks
I just started too, Im on my 3rd transformer. Its pretty crazy taking toys apart, Im always thinking that Im just messing them up! I got alligator clips on the way from hong kong, 100 of em for $4.50 on ebay, it'll help with the skewers.
Small update. Last night I painted the parts. I´m using craft acrylics for this project, just trying this kind of paint and the airbrush set up for future customs. I thin the paint 50/50 with water and a few drops of alcohol. I`ve tried different pressures and the best results came with low pressure, around 18 psi. I`m going to keep trying other setups to see if I can get better results. I like the way the primer shows throu the yellow paint, kind like shadows ( don´t know if that is the whrite word) Here the picture
