Different Take on Alpha Trion - COMPLETED

I like AFT Toys Titanium Saint, but I don't like him for $100 or more, plus he's a bit on the small side, so I decided to take some junkers and cobble together a different mod than all the rest. Gonna let this one flow and take as long as it needs to become something.

Already got the bones in place and know I want him to be a spaceship in alt mode. Most of it is made up of the KO TFC Aerialbot not Slingshot.

His arms are from a Tigertrack. Feet from Animated Ratchet, "Command Decks" are KFC Tempest legs and the Nose is from some Piece O' Crap Dollar General soft plastic roboformer. Wings are from G1 Sixshot.

He'll have articulated hands, a custom face, and somehow I'll figure out a cape that becomes part of the alt mode. Suggestions are appreciated.

 

Looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

 

UPDATE: 07-30-15

Toyed around with trying different parts, wings etc. Then I finally settled on this. I'm pretty happy with the results from just the junkers I had lying around. Will be at NJCC this Sunday looking for a suitable head.

Uses the original not Slingshot wings with the tips folded down and the tail-fins are from one of the other not Aerialbots. Nosecone folds up and around mostly flat against his back in bot mode.

Put some guns inside the "command decks" Now they've become Gun emplacements/thrusters. When in bot mode these will be his weapons.

took a G1 Sunstreaker windshield to use as my cockpit.

Getting the alt mode down first then will turn attention to bot mode.

as far as the cape goes one thing i did wen i was making a jetformer(cyclonous) to have a free moving trenchcoat (sort of like a kape I used the jets underbely conected to some wires, you could do this to. as far as i can tell the nose cone flips over the shoulders, so the underside/cape could be conected to that with wire, a hinf or small balljoints if you have the parts

 

Is there a thread for this or do you have a photo so I can see what you did?

 

Updated pics. I feel like it's coming along nicely. Happy with the alt mode and getting there with the bot mode.

 

I love this take on A3, you seem to have the feel of who he really is..
My thing though is and its just a personal one.. I always figured that the 13 Primes never had a need to transform because of how powerful they were, that there descendants were the ones to evolve.. But thats just how I see it.. great work.. I can hear Sunstreaker saying, "Hey! I'm a convertible now!"

Thanks for the encouraging words. As far as the Mythos surrounding the Primes, i didn't even consider that, but you are right. As far as Streaker being a convertible...uhhh..at this point he's more like himself in 'Escalation' at this point.

Here he is in all his Raspberry and Purple glory. Alpha Trion. This one was fun and I'm happy with how h looks in person. My pics never do the actual thing justice. I really like how coherent it came out looking, as opposed to the initial shots you had. It came out looking really good. Great job!

 

My personal fav is the batman tumbler alt mode for obvious reasons. But this is fan friggin tastic! Love it bro
