Silverbolt turns into a deliciously evil looking dude. Stupid question, did you paint the torso mode too?

It could work, but depends on which jet parts you want to swap. His arms and legs pop off easy, but the main part of the jet is part of Silverbolt's body. The wings are held on by long pins. I don't have Cyclonus, and I don't plan on getting him.

Yeah I agree and thought about that the way some people did the detachable nosecone with Universe Silverbolt, but I was trying to do this as a straight repaint, no mods. As for the drone idea...

Yeah...so...here is the original plan. If you notice where the teal is on my paintjob, it would have lined up with how Overlord's legs look. I was either going to do two tanks for legs, and one mostly black jet for his left arm, and a mostly white/gray for his right arm. Possibly purple on their nosecones. Swap Galvatronus' head. Sort of a powered up Overlord mode:



But once I broke the Silverbolt again, I got discouraged. Keep in mind this is my second Silverbolt and all my repair attempts are not working. So this idea is cancelled, as its a lot of work for something that isn't that great in my mind anymore, I really like how his . But I like how he looks in plain bot mode for now.

My train of thought was wondering if the body split into a front and back half. Since all the jet bits are on the back, I was wondering if it would be possible to just switch their backs out. That way Cyclonus would retain his remolded bot/combiner torso while having Silverbolt's Alt mode.

 

Dang... understandable though... Considering I give up far before any of that. >_>

Hope you inspire other folks to continue with a full-fledged Overlord + Drone limbs tho!

 

I agree about doing it though in different context.
If nothing else, use the Brawl and jet repaints as stand alone characters that homage the Powermasters.

 

Love this Overlord idea as he does have multiple vehicles that are required for his robot mode anyway. Wouldn't one of the chest combiner pieces, prefereably the motorcycle for the scale, take care of the Powermaster homage?

 

Add a more insane looking head and it'll be that much more perfect.

Thanks all...blast from the past. I need to finish this, a buddy traded me the Galvatronus head, so I can at least finish that part.

It is testors model master acrylics. I find them to be very forgiving. Flat Black, Ford Engine Blue and Neutral Gray.
