I love the quality of this figure but there are some odd design choices that mean he's not quite MP Mirage material. I've been planning on rectifying them and now I think I'm finished. The main thing was sorting out those silly looking shoulders that jutted out too far but full list of changes: New head Modded/painted shoulders Shoulder livery section articulated with slider for transformation and pivot for dynamic articulation. Painted waist plate Forearm shoulder fillers Real world racing livery added Hope you all like! Alt mode pics to come once I've smoothed out the sliding mechanism when my new dremel arrives. RIP my old one....it served me well!
Cheers guys, completely agree. This figure was so, so close out of the factory and just needed that extra few things to make it spot on. Sad thing is they could all have been done by DX9 themselves and they would have had the MP Mirage slot sown up easily.
Can you post a tutorial, please? I've been thinking about getting one, but I don't really like the arm panels til you addressed them. Looks awesome. Great job.
Looks awesome! Really curious on what you used for the shoulders and head mods! Is that the Kre-o Mirage head?
Cheers man. Once I get my new dremel and finish off the slides I'll see what I can do Cheer bud. Head is indeed Kre-o, shoulders where choice cuts with styrene plates and rods for sliding mechanism for transformation. I've got the Reprolabels set coming too so when I've totally finished the mod I'll get new pics in both modes.
Reprolabels have arrived! Not added them all as I don't like the 'CYBERTRON' they have done for the side of the car but:
This is some excellent work, my friend! Also, my condolences to your rotary device. It's always a strange time when you have to toss a tool in the trash - feels like letting go of a trusted friend
