This was actually my... second project involving parts I designed myself and printed through Shapeways?

I had the original Thunderclash toy as a child, and really loved his reapearance in MtMtE. The original idea was for this to be a hybrid of the original Thunderclash and the MtMtE design but aside from the head, he really ended up looking more like his MtMtE version than anything else.

Before I finished his paintwork, I had some fun testing out his posability~!

Especially fond of how dynamically he can be posed, and of how well the light piping's worked out.

Sadly, it's reeeeally hard to take a pic of CW Magnus hugging him that doesn't look silly. :p

For anyone interested, the parts are available on Shapeways. He's not a simple custom, requiring pin-pushing, although if you use one of those KO Classics OP/Magnus figures, it's a LOT easier... I am certainly very proud of the results though.

Of course, now I need to finish the Thunderclash parts I'm modding for the CW Prime mould. :)

    Hubba hubba..

This is a class act brother, I've loved watching this unfold for how-ever-many-years it's been.

I wouldn't change a damn thing, besides having one of my own on the shelf :p

Holy mother of... That is incredible! I had to do a double and triple take to figure out what the base figure was! If the kit weren't so expensive I would totally get one to convert an extra Classics Voyager Prime I have. Outstanding work on this. I just love retools like this.

    Thanks guys! :D

Yeah, sadly the cost isn't something I can do much about, it's a kit that uses a lot of plastic! It was always designed for my personal custom first, and any sales later would be a nice bonus, you know? Looking into alternatives for the CW Prime version I'm working on now. :D

I figured. That wasn't supposed to be a slight against you so I'm sorry if you took offense. It really is a nice kit though; something I would like to see a 3rd party mass produce so it could be a bit more affordable, although I'm not really sure the demand would be enough to warrant it.

Oh, I forgot to ask, this is fully transformable without parts forming, right? It looks like it is but I wanted to double check. Great job again on this. I'm not even a big Thunderclash fan but I think this might be one of my favorite customs to date!

It's not a slight on what you've done, but as the weather vane on the top of the truck it looks a little flat and small which is more pronounced because of the gap between it finishing and the front of the truck

Ah, not at all, it's a fair comment, like Nautica he's a hefty wedge of plastic to 3D print and is sadly priced as such. I'm working on getting some of my more ambitious projects produced in better ways; After success with some of my other CW upgrade parts, CW Thunderclash might well be produced in Injection Plastic. :D

Also, yes, he does transform without partsforming (not counting the cannons, which were later additions). That was a big goal of mine from the start. :)

It's a valid criticism! Unfortunately, it's the compromise I had to make for the way the chest has to fit in robot mode, and to a lesser extent to be more similar to IDW Thunderclash. A more G1-style rounded chest could have worked, but would stick out massively in 'bot mode if it was any longer towards the front.

It's available now! :)  I forgot to make it available for sale again after realising there was an error in the uploaded version and taking it down to fix it. ^^; And thanks! :D

    Thanks guys! :D

My test shot is actually made from a KO that uses a screw rather than pin, that's a good point... Heated pin removal is actually pretty simple, but I guess I'd better add a new neck piece ! :)

Thanks! He's inspired by some other customs I saw, but I tweaked his face sculpt quite a bit and will be remaking some of him soon.

    Looks really good!!, great work.

When i saw the new CW prime, I thought he would do a great custom TC too!.

If you did the the rest of the gang you'd have a Turbo master combiner. :D
