There is not enough 200x in MOTUC and this is one armor variant, even though it was only in one episode, that too cool not to have. I've been working on this since May. It is the most extensive modding and paint work I've attempted to date. I used the original toy colors and his appearance in the MYP cartoon for reference. My goal was to use as much of the original figure as possible and to make it different than what I had seen so far by putting my own spin on it to make it my own. I also wanted to bring out all the details in the 200x sculpt. I dry bushed all the fur, matched the color of the right forearm to the left, and then went in and two toned the all the buckles, clips, and metal details. I really wanted a clear ice axe but since I wasn't able to find a casted one I just painted an extra regular axe based on it's colors in the cartoon. I feel I have accomplished all my goals and I'm extremely proud of myself and this custom. A HUGE thanks to mkULTRA for painting the cast IBMMT bearded 200x head. I'll figure out skin tone eventually. Also thanks to the previous customs by the members here for the inspiration in the last months, Motu Maniac, He-bro, etc...
Interesting design, and that face is seriously impressive! I think the shoulder ice spikes should have some white added just so they blend in to the theme a bit more. Also, the torso looks a bit too different than the arms and legs. Different plastic?
The torso is a Zodac buck and is hairy. Since I gave him the beard I thought it only made since to have body hair. It's dry brushed white to represent being frosted, like the beard.
Impressive piece. I think the chest piece does come off as a different tone done in this matter. Close up I can see what you were trying accomplish with the body hair but it doesn't seem to match the rest of the color palette on the arms and legs. Other than that you did a great job here. Kudos!
Yeah it looks nice, but the white dry brushing not being on the arms makes the chest ever more odd looking.
working with what's available. there is no flesh buck with hair on the arms. i realize it's weird to just have it on the chest and not all over but i like it. also, the forearms, boots, loin, and armor are from the old toy and this isn't just a paint job.
Thanks guys. I'm about to revisit my regular armor 200x He-man next. Have some new parts for him as well.
