FINALLY took the time to take pics of a bunch of projects, some new, some really really old! Here's one I did awhile ago using a TFTM deluxe Barricade. I loved the toy, but not the drone head, or the annoying chest grabbing claw thing. It was a great gimmick for kids, but not for us serious, mature adult toy geeks. (Ahem.) So got rid of the chest gimmick, covered the resulting whole with kibbles&bits, and swapped his head with the one from Heavytread's combined mode. A bit of paint (ok, a lot of paint...) and here we have Motormaster! He's missing his right hand, cause I can't find it an the moment...and I've been thinking of switching the head with a CW mold head of some sort to make him more g1...any thoughts?
OH SNAP! That is clever mate...I am going to try that! Oh and as for a head, how about PCC huffer's supre head, cut off the horns (or keep them for more menasor) and box his head.
Cheers! Hey, that's a pretty good idea...I hadn't actually considered building a box for his head, but there's definitely more than enough room in his alt mode to do it! Oops! Too many boxes of tfs in my studio for me to keep track anymore...! It's a fun project - not too difficult, and I'm really happy with the result! Though now I'm thinking of also doing something about those hands, that just don't look right... Thanks!
If you have access to a Family Dollar store they have a ko bot gorilla, sells for $10, for transformation he haz big arms that go over the bot arms, he has these rubber hands that will hold 3 mm or 5 mm posts and are VERY easy to put on other things. They fit on the bots with little room. I used them on universe Ironhide. That's a neat idea, not sure what to think about the look of the robot mode... the vehicle mode is good looking!
