Ok so the first pic is what I was trying to base him off of. And, in some of the pics I had the shoulders mis placed, and didn't catch it until I transformed him. But you can see where they were swapped. Also, the alt-mode pics weren't pushed together all the way ( thus the gaps) due to some spots of clear coat still being wet. I've tried to get a decent looking Brawn before with utter failure, (I included a pic of the stand in.) But couldn't get myself to spend the money on Hench, so, I did Brawn. Now for the work: Body: Base is CW First Aid. I removed the combiner parts and built a new chest, shoulders, and back. Head: Cyclonus, don't really like the pointed head, I plan to redo a Darth Vader head when I can find one in the right size. Everything else was just paint. Then slapped a tire that I split in two with a hot knife onto the top. The pics don't show it that well but I did the arms, abdomen, and knees in silver. This is the first time I've actually posted a FINISHED custom on here. Please let me know what you think.
Oh yeah, i forgot to tell about his mace. Its a weapon shaft from skycats weapons cut off then drilled out. I took the arm off of a titanium 3" unicron and attached it. The hand holding Cybertron just looked like it would be an appropriate club for the autobots resident brawler.
You can just sand down the taper of Cyclonus' head until it's much rounder and Brawn-like. I still think this is the best Brawn head option on any Transformer toy, official or otherwise. zmog
looks good but i feel the green could be a bit darker. that olive color doesnt quite do it. that the only flaw i see really.
Dude that is awesome!! Did it take much to paint from original white to the olive color? I'm currently doing a custom using the Offroad mold but after looking at yours I might switch to the Firstaid Mold instead.
This is cool just for the fact you made a Combiners War figure actually look good as a G1 esque character! 2ndly you made Brawn and it works with what you used. Thinking outside the box worked very well. Nice job!
Not at all. Washed in hot soapy water, took it completely apart. By tbe way, thetes a pin in the crotch you want to be careful with. Put down 4 really thin coats of primer. Bit of sanding ot much. Then the green was camp green in a rattle can. Easy peasy. Clear coat was the hard part.
Nice. I've wanted a Figueroa "Ongoing" design Brawn since I first read issue 1. Best Brawn design ever, IMO. Thought that mold would make a good version of the character as soon as I saw it. You did it justice.
Excellent work, and as others have mentioned, the First Aid mold works really well for Brawn in both modes.
