Here's my CW Rook with his SWAT shield. I popped the pin out of the hinge at the connection in the back, cut the hinge off the post, screwed on a K'Nex ball, and popped it back together. Perfect size! Took all of 10 minutes! Still transforms exactly the same, and now can be popped off to use as a shield for Rook. And for Defensor. Kinda. The last pic the shield is just sitting in the hand. May need to find a different way to use it for Defensor. Enjoy!

Thanks guys! I'm surprised hasbro didn't do this.

Not too sure what more pix I can provide. But I can try to elaborate. After popping off the pin in the back to remove the top of the vehicle mode, I checked if a K'Nex ball joint ball would fit the spot in the back. Fit perfectly. So I took the roof, and cut the hinge piece off the black post, and sanded it flush. Then took the ball joint ball, dremeled a hole thru the ball, and got a skinny but long screw (maybe a 1/4 inch long? I dunno) and screwed it into the ball about halfway, then cut the head off the screw. Then I dremeled another hole in the black post and twisted the ball onto it. A little tweaking here & there to make sure it still works ok, and I was done! Easy peasy. It probably took me longer to type this than actual labor time to make it!

Also as an added bonus(...?), since the shield is now a ball joint, in leg mode you can flip it 180° and make it look a bit less huge on top & skinny at the bottom...

I bet Groove will look better now connected to Rook with the cover off like that.

You can order them dirt cheap straight from K'Nex. Somewhere between 3¢-7¢ each

Not following. Are you asking for pix of groove attached to the rook leg without the shield on it? If so, I'll try later when I get home...

Did it to mine, works great! Also, added a hole on his back left side to plug the combiner hand/foot into like a backpack missile pod. Gives it a more complete feel. :)
