Right then, if you've been following the thread for my leader-class CW Optimus Prime add-ons, you'll know that I'm also working on a kit or two to convert the figure into Thunderclash (what a guy).

And now, I finally have some prototypes to show off!

Bear in mind that the chest needs tweaking before it can go on sale (the connectors need thickening up, as the whole thing is way too fragile at the moment), but I'm rather pleased with how he looks so far!

So, without further ado:





There'll also be a MW Prime version of the kits, with a head and logo design supplied by stprime (and it's a really nice design he came up with, too).

Not as yet, no, that's one of the bits that needs tweaking.

I've not designed one as yet (and I'm reticent to rip the head off my Prime until I've made my mind up finally to use the HAWTSWOP head), but it's feasible to do, aye.

Wow, this is amazing....great looking design all around, especially the head. My only minor critique is the head looks a little big, but that's usually my preference. I think a smaller head gives the illusion of size.

Aye, that's down to how that EAZEE head works, being basically a helmet that slots over the smaller robot mode head (like combiners of olde). There's no technical reason why I couldn't also design a straight-up replacement for that smaller head, but I want to get the engineering in the chest sorted out first.

That flat bit on the belly forms a clip-on spoiler in alt mode, then in bot mode, there, it clips into the little tab holes where you'd tab the arm panels in, for alt mode. That spoiler also has a 5mm port in it, and there's a peg inside the windvane part of the chest.

Basically, that's the method I came up with to stop the chest flopping about in bot mode (even though it will more or less stay where it is, just by the friction in the clips at the top, I wanted a way to secure it there, y'see).

 

Seriously can't wait for this, gonna be eyeing this thread even more than all the others!

Edit: off topic for a sec, concerning your leader megatron upgrades, how about some G1 style Galvatron upgrades?

I want to get the IDW-G1 version done first, to confirm that my masterplan for the chests works, but when that's done... oooh, I don't see any reason why not.
