While I'm not really a Machine Wars fanboy, but this got me thinking...I wonder what he would look like as MW ThunderPrime, or even a MW Autobot Combiner...

 

Well yes, obviously everything is better when it's made of 5 Blackjacks, but I only have one.

As Machine Wars Prime, he'll look like that, but in MW Prime's colours.  

Or, there's the special version of MW Prime that's coming down the pipes, that stprime asked me to do (and wait till you see the logo he came up with, it's glorious, not to mention the bleedin' cool idea he had for the face).  

 

I'll stay tuned....can't wait to see the special version and the logo....

 

Any updates on Thunderclash/MW Optimus? Also, have anymore ideas for other MW characters, like Megatron/Megaplex?

 

Ye're gonna love it.  

I've done a load of tweaking, to make all the parts a bit more robust, and I'll be ordering another test print on my next order. I want to get the IDW head done for Megatron before I place that order, though.  

 

Those Thunderclash parts look awesome. Cannot wait until they are available.

 

This just made it to the wishlist. Can't wait to see the finished product.

And here's the first update on Thunderclash: BALLS, that new White Prime has a new head!



Welp, that's the current EAZEE heads only working on the original CW Prime, then. The HAWTSWOP heads should work fine, though.

Heh. I have two options.

I can: 1/ buy this Battle Core Prime and completely re-do the EAZEE Thunderclash head to work with the new tooling on this repaint; or 2/ not do that, and offer Thunderclash's head purely as a HAWTSWOP offering, which I've already prototyped...

I think you might be able to guess where I'm going with this one...  

Yup, looks completely new to me. Although I suspect this won't be the only time we see this mould.

Sure, it'd need some heavy retooling (scrapping the shuttle mode and giving it a humanoid bot mode), but this is the first beast mode we've had in the Combiner Wars line.

Consider the implcations of that last paragraph...

Could do the Predacon Sky Lynx setup from TF: Prime, and no doubt FunPub will eventually pull an SG version.

That aside... Might be a good thing that the new figure isn't that heavy in the paint department. Paint up your new CW parts the appropriate scheme for Thunderclash, snap them on the White Prime... profit. Only reason I'd be interested in the set.

BTW, random idea for you... considering that there's a Legends Wreck-gar coming... and I imagine Takara *has* to repaint/retool their Deluxe Groove to make the mold creation worthwhile...

Dude, that's genius, I hadn't even thought of doing that!

However, I have to say... I do know someone else who's working on a range of smaller figures, and having seen some of the designs, they'd work brilliantly with that Sky Lynx.

You know who you are, person I'm talking about there...  

I don't know whether I'm getting Sky Lynx yet (I want to 'cos, y'know, it's Sky Lynx, but I don't know if I'll have the funds), but it wouldn't half be fun to try and design some add-ons for him, like the frill to make him into SG Sky Lynx.

Yup, my plan all along has been to get the Thunderclash add-ons ready (by designing them round Prime), so they're all set when White Prime goes on sale.

Hasbro slightly scuppered that by retooling the head, so that the EAZEE headhelmetthingy will not work on White Prime.

Still, sod it, this might be a good opportunity, rather than a problem, 'cos I reckon it might be time to think about designing an all-in replacement head for the smaller head on that figure.

I shall start having a look at that idea this week, I reckon, and hey, at least I know the other add-ons will still work.  

Well it is nearly the 30th anniversary of the movie.  

As things stand on the current head for Thunderclash, it's one of my EAZEE heads, which are basically hollow helmets that slot over Prime's smaller head (ooer), like combiner heads from the days of G1, and as such, they need to be removed to transform him anyway.

However... now that the White Prime has a different head, that EAZEE head will no longer work, so I'm thinking that I should design a permanent replacement for the smaller head, which can stay on during transformation.

So, basically, yes, leave it with me.
