Operation Liokaiser continues, Gaihawk is still WIP as I am yet to paint the wings beyond priming but I think I'm going to stick with this colour scheme, the black alongside the dark pink seem to go pretty well. Really impressed with the primer I have as it seems to adhere to the rubberized plasitc on the tail fins and nosecone pretty well. Makes Hellbat look a little crap to be honest, but then I always intended to go back to sort out his head. no plane mode pics yet as not only are his wings unpainted but the pins have yet to be reinserted into the legs.

Really happy with the head, though I might add a bit more sculpting onto the beak on the helmet to look more hawk-like

    Dude, I love this.

Liokaiser is my next project, after the titans, so I'm definitely getting color/layout ideas from all of this. Can you finish in the next month or so? Haha

Are you doing breastmasters too? I did those first/ahead of time

those are really nice! Though I would have used Air Raid for Guyhawk and Skydive for Hellbat.

Airbrush or by hand? It's super clean.

I bought an airbrush recently, but am still using brushes.

Not much chance unfortunately, going away for a fortnight on tuesday. Played with the idea of Brestanimals but the amount of work is daunting on them. I'm going to wait and see how I feel after Leozack and Jallguar are done. Might use the arms micron from the dark matter calibut for Gaihawk though.

I only have one Airraid and wave two hasn't shown up in the UK yet or I would have done. Hellbat always struck me as a bit weak and relying upon his abilities whilst Gaihawk was just a thug who hates the weak so it made sense to give Gaihawk this much beefier looking body. AirRaid or Quickslinger's heads would have been easier to mode for this though for sure.

Hellbat was done with spray cans and Gaihawk is done with brushes, need to get an airbrush though as Gaihawk would have been done so much quicker.

Thanks for the compliments guys, hoping to have Gaihawk and Hellbat both finished by Tuesday.

Not yet, need to sort out a few rubbing areas first as I didn't sand down enough on a few areas to prevent paint rub.

Gaihawk has only had a couple of coats on top of primer so when I fix the rub spots it's not too noticeable.

    These both look GREAT!

Ill be interested in seeing the whole set.

Are you thinking of going for a show accurate gestalt mode or the more modern 5 main bots and one guy who's a weapon/chestpiece?

Hellbat and Gaihawk are arms, Drillhorn and Killbison (I love that name) are legs

Leozack is the torso and Jallaguar is the crotch and thighs.

How well they will come together will depend on how well I pull it off, I'm thinking parts from Cyclonus and Silverbolt for the main body of Leozack with arms from Universe Powerglide, Jallgaur will be made from a modified Drag Strip with the arms from Silverbolt/Cyclonus. I might use a male energon combiner connector on Leozack and replace the CW connector on Dragstrip with the female energon port to connect the two with the bonus of combiner waist articulation and even an ab crunch/ backward leaning.

That is the theory and ingredients list, the cooking might throw some spanners in the works as my scratchbuilding experience melts down to remodelling heads and this involves a lot of work like scratch building onto Dragstrip a place where the arms can mount and be secure.

Gaihawk and Hellbat (and Drillhorn and Killbison when I get the moulds I intend to use for them) will probably be done quicker as they'll involve less work.

If anyone wants to nab the idea for making the torso and seeing if it works, please do, just share the method and mention my idea so I make less mistakes :lol

This is awesome. I tried my hand at the breastforce last year. Gaihawk was the one I was lest proud of. This is superior! Very well done. I may have to go back and try again with mine.

Second takes can be good, especially if you feel you've learnt from the last time.

Gaihawk is pretty much done now, a few rub spots and touchups then he'll be ready for sealing.

I only just painted up the combiner head this weekend.

I do wish I had clear coated them as I went along, quite s few chips on Gaihawk and I may redo Hellbat.
