No, not the same CW as the Arrow and Smallville shows, so don't expect mushy teen drama here. Combiner Wars Slingshot. I didnt like the idea of a helicopter with my team of supersonic jets (though I do love Offroad with menasor!) so I turned a Fireflight into Slingshot by taking him apart, cutting and resculpting the knees, shoulders, top of hands, chest, and face. Then I sanded pegs and such like crazy and gave it all a white base coat, then hand painted the rest using various G1 Slingshot references. Since some pictures had him with orange or yellow eyes, and some with orange or yellow glasses, I went for a sort of aviation goggles eyes thing in a slightly lighter orange than the rest of his face. The other differences in him and Fireflight will be what I do to my Fireflight, which will just be removing the parts that stick out at the end of the jet wings and tail. A few of my reference pics and base Fireflight figure included.
Looks even better than the official version! ... but now I want some kinda of Arrow-related crossover custom.
Arrow isn't mushy teen drama, the flash has more of that, and it's proudly comic rooted. still, a nice job with the paintjob.
Thanks guys. Been done so much because Hasbro took a cheap route using a figure that was obviously meant to be 2 other combiner limbs, not an Aerialbot. I posted mine because I worked hard on it and it isnt exactly the same thing everyone has done. That okay? Yeah, it is. Unless you are a brony. I tried to like Arrow but its incredibly stupid. His own mom didnt know who he was because he had a hood on and used a deeper voice, every show makes sure Arrow goes shirtless for a little while, and the soap opera romance oozes non-stop. I tried Flash too but the same CW crap killed it for me in 2 shows (made it to Season 3 of Arrow at least). But, just opinions. I HIGHLY suggest Daredevil.
I have yet to attempt to customize a Firefly into a Slingshot. Each one I've seen has been a little different which is cool. With all the projects I'm working on right now including my Devastator project I might Commission someone to make a Slingshot for me.
