Thanks for all the kind words everyone! This started off going to be a Generations version of Galaxy Force Galvatron. I still have the head and chest pieces modified for that (it'll be my next version), but changed to G1 Galvatron after looking at some of the detailing. I swear some of the design cues were meant to be Galvatron. There are just so many that resemble the G1 figure that it's uncanny. Maybe it' because of the evolution of Megatron to Galvatron, but after working on this piece, I believe the designer intended for a Galvatron remold. I just beat them to it.
It doesn't look like a sneer to me. That face sculpt looks like he's having a mad fit so I think it's perfect! You should do face sculpts for 3rd parties because they are seldom this good. The sculpting is great and paint job really works - the tank doesn't look like it could turn into a purple robot!
Beautiful work! We can only hope Hasbro will make a Galvatron this good. Normally I'm not a fan of Galvatrons repainted/retooled from Megatron, but like the OP pointed out this mold just works so much better for Galvatron. I need this in my life!
Your best work yet. And such a departure from your usual scale. Works WAY better as Galvatron, at least as you've created him. Slick nod to the Universe 2.0 Galvatron tank mode, too.
Then this was a success! I love sculpting, so adding the expressiveness was mandatory for me. Thanks! Yeah, I prefer Galvatron as an individual rather than a dressed-up Megatron, but this mold just seemed so... right. Thanks! I've been stuck in Cyberverse land for so long that I wanted to have a go at something more impressive. I was working on a commission for someone else to make parts for a Supreme Starscream, looked at my Megatron, and decided to go for it. And yeah, I actually like the Universe Galvatron. The tank was a definite nod to it.
Hasbro might yet surprise us with its own Galvatron - his current comic design has a similar silhouette to the Leader Megatron mold - it looks like a new head, abdomen, and cannon might be enough to get the point across. If it does happen, it won't be until a wave or two after Megatron's off the shelf - I can't imaging Hasbro wanting two silver/gray tanks in stores at the same time. That said, I really dig what Yaujta has here - his take is definitely more of an updated G1 Galvatron, rather than the re-imagined design in the comics. I'm not familiar with the mold itself, but I like how much purple his Galvatron possesses while keeping an almost entirely gray tank.
WOW lots for words dude!! i hope u dont mind i shared a few pics on several FB groups and said the peepz could find him on ebay soon..... cuz I know i cant afford him and could always try one myself if needed (cuz yes that the fun of it hehe) but damn son absolutely stunning!
