Repainted this guy for a friend, he's the gold KO of the MP Sideswipe/Red Alert mold. I basically just repainted all that hideously clashing red plastic with a copper colour, and did all the little bits of detailing in metallic yellow, copper, gunmetal and silver. His hubcaps were originally gold, I repainted them silver. He's been named "Coppertone" by his owner, which is a step up from his previous name; "That ugly-ass knock-off". I think he looks quite smashing now. He seems to have a bit of a "show-off-but-somehow-likeable-jerk" vibe, maybe he should hang out with Rodimus?
Yeah, this is VERY nice and classy. It's certainly inspiring as I have one of these on the way without a thought of what I want to do with it
Thanks for the thumbs-ups, I tried to do my best! Thanks, glad you like. I put alot of thought into the colours and detailing. I think I stripped and repainted his abs at least three times before I was happy with the colour choices. I also considered doing a metallic turquoise or blue instead of the copper colour, with hot pink or lime green accents. That would have been pretty crazy with the gold, very cheezy early 1990's! But I'm tempted to get my own KO and try it out.
