Talk about coincidence (or maybe brilliant minds do think alike ), I'm currently doing a similar custom for an original character using BH Arcee and a similar alternate transformation. Either way, it's a really nice concept, and I look forward to seeing it in its full painted glory. Awesome job!
I by far like the first alt mode better because the second looks like it is trying to use the wings to connect into more of a boat-y shape, but it being a 4 turbine flier/spaceship/sub outright looks more cybertron-like, more versitile, and much cooler too IMO. Never hurts to keep both options for different travel forms but I like 1 best and the whole idea is great.
But see, form follows function and boats look the way they do for a reason. You can also see similar results in evolution called convergent evolution. That's when two seperate species evolve in similar ways because it's simply the best way to deal with something; like sharks and dolfins looking rather similar despite not sharing a common ancesstor of relevance. So if Nautica turns into a watercraft it would make sense for that craft to resemble a boat. This is the same reason I don't have a problem with the Cybertronian modes in the gams looking so similar to Earth cars. The design works so why not use it. All that said, versatility is quite good too.

So, my dremel broke down. Meaning work on it, as updates on it, will be sparse for a while, at least until I get a replacement.
It's such a clever idea to do a Nautica... Take note, Hasblow... I never thinked that an Animated prowl legs could work for a Fembot... you changed my mind... Nice Job And now... All she needs is paint... but, aside that, she looks Saludos
