Recently, jmc2915 approached me with his idea regarding ''Reverse Pretenders''. This idea would combine GI Joe and Transformers with a new twist. The basic premise is that the humanoid forms of the Pretenders are Joes and Cobras. They use a variety of transforming vehicles or mechs resembling their Transformers identities. I like this idea better than the real one and it's closer to how it was on masterforce where they just screamed and got bigger.
Roadblock and Stranglehold are the truest examples of reverse Pretenders. The GI JOE figures are based off the original Pretenders designs and the mech were painted to match the original Transformers within the shells. the others were an attempt to combine the GI JOE and Transformers universe together. Bomb-Burst had a shell styled after a bat. I thought that a Battle Android Trooper(B.A.T.) would be fitting. So for the vehicle we used the Bomb-Burst vehicle mode and referenced those colors. Iguanus the vehicle is modeled after a dreadnok motorcycle and Iguanus the robot is color scheme is based of the outer shell, because when the two come together the color schemes will complement each other. Vroom used a poc armour cycle repainted as the silver mirage and vroom is the driver. all of the figure and vehicles merge together and i will take pics as soon as i can of them together.
Neat idea! And now I kind of wish I had used "Kitbashed Joe" as my avatar name... "Hey, uncle Tresob, tell us another one of those yarns about Kitbashed Joe..."
Putting the organic form inside the robot form. That's pretty funny how easily that works. ... except why would the Decepticons have tiny monsters?
These are awesome. Love the Mirage bike. I use it like that too(not the pretender idea),i love that bike. Wish i coulda found more of them. Love the Iron mechs,those are very pricey on the after market,i wish i woulda grab some of them too when they were shelfwarming. hope to see more ideas like this.
