I repainted Motomaster from the combiner wars set while I was waiting for the rest of the stunticons to be released and then I was able to find the rest at a collectable show last weekend "overpriced" so I figured I would show you guys what he looked like as there are not a ton of Menasor Combiner Wars pics out there. So here is Menasor with painted Motomaster I hope you guys like him.
I think he was just too light of colors period. I did the truck mode in flat black as it is just more motomaster looking to me, i did lots of flat black on his body too along with lots of metallic colors. I will of course do the rest of them at some point and post em up like my superion or bruticus, but these combiners take foooooorrrrrreeeevvvveeerrrr to do because u want to make each robot look right. I love it that hasbro is waging war on 3rd party combiners as i wpuld be tripping smearing paint all over a 500 dollar combiner lol. But the robot modes are loaded with double cheesiness so they takr a while to make them look like they have feet and shit like that lol. Thank you for the kind words though man and i did a ton of painting of motomaster outside of the chest as well, pretty much every part of him was wrong in my eyes lol.
Thank you Scorp. Another thing I did to improve his look was an idea I got from another user on this site, it was to turn the arm socket upside down essentially on Motomaster prior to combining him. It makes the shoulder go up around the head similar to G1 or Fansproject Casualty type of look. But when you do this be aware that Motomasters hands will be just chillin in the air, so I painted a couple of the weapons of the individual stunticons and mounted them in said hands as to hide them a little better. I must thank the user that showed me this as it is a thousand times better than the Hasbro configuration. Menasor looks silly with his shoulders level to his chest. He has pretty much never had his shoulders this low in any other version so Hasbro once again needed a helping hand from YOU BADASS MOFOS on TFW to get thier shit straight on Menasor But thank you again, I really like this dude now, and am fairly pumped on painting the other stunticons.
I am terrible about transforming them and taking pics lol. Once i have them in thier final state i usually just pose them, but i will try and take a few of just motomaster for ya bud and post them here. I have a ton of work until wed so prolly not until then sorry man.
Wow thank you man. I very much appreciate it the chest in the oppurtunity in this figure. I dont know tha g hasbro could have fucked it up anynore than they did lol. But the detail is there at least and with a little paint it can come alive.
Hey guys thank you so much. I used mainly Tamiya metallics, model master acrylcics as well. Purple Pearl is one of the purples I used. Brass Balls from formula P3. Gun Metal, Chrome, Copper, Metallic Brown, Metallic Grey, and a few others from Tamiya.
I think I got it from Hobby Lobby, wasnt hard to find. The Spz Stix spray paint is also super incredible, and thier air brush stuff too. The P3 paints are also pretty damned impressive, totally different makeup and texture than the Tamiya and Model Master stuff. Hope it helps. And I wasnt even that excited about this guy or my airialbot guy. I just repainted my Silverbolt for Superion because I was a little let down lol. I am very glad you liked this one though thank you
