The shape of the wing is a nod to Chinese J-20 stealth fighter, if you noticed ;)

Please paint this as his cone head looks like a dunce cap. Inspired work otherwise...

Looks great, probably more than we're getting from Hasbro from this mold.

 :p  Yup I'll need to do that. However since the wings didn't print out right I am sending them to Shapeways to reprint with different orientation, so painting will have to wait...

*Welp* another Shapeways kit I have to order.

So I figure using a spare THundercracker for Dirge (blue base old)

The Thrust kit I'll probably wait for Skywarp (Black Base mold for the Maroon paint)

and Starscream for your eventual Ramjet parts.

    Super sexy stuff Steamshield.

Beautiful kit, on my want list! You can try to change the print orientation but IIRC "in the fine print" Shapeways has the right choose the orientation for the greatest efficiency...perhaps they will have suggestions on their forums how to enforce a specific orientation...

I found if I made the wings flat instead of properly contoured it helped...though not as technically correct they seemed to print with less stepping.

Either way this kit is gorgeous!!!

Finished painting after getting the wings reprinted using upright orientation...much less issue with stepping.

I am very satisfied with the result, however pose-ability is severely limited due to the design of the canard and main wings. I may need to reshape them in my next version.

Hope you like this project...already got the ramjet print and will assemble them soon enough!

Hey quick question; do the kits require partsforming when transforming?

That looks really nice. Great job.
I hope I can come up with something as good as that for my FOC seeker add on kit.

No, all three kits allow full transformation, although with this Dirge kit the wings do make the figure hard to pose.
