Howdy. Didn't like that Powerglide had no elbow rotation. But I realized if you pop out the elbow pin, that his knee ball joint was just the right size for the elbow. Found another powerglide yesterday & got to work. Took me 20 minutes. Cut the thigh apart & removed the ball joint ball as high up as I could, to give me some working room. Then sanded it to "lengthen" the post. Then I cut out the elbow joint to accommodate the ball joint. Dremelled a hole thru the elbow, and inserted the ball joint. Cut the post to size, & glued it in. Voilà. Easy peasy cheesy. Worked perfectly. And toy still transforms properly. Hope Ya likey!

Oh. Also modded an old RiD/MW jet guns to use for him. Fits in a hole I made above the other hole in his butt for PGs gun mode.

This was my concern when I first saw this one. I'd think a more generic part could be used, as you suggest. I'd like to see someone find a part that's a bit more readily available.

Still, this is very cool. Also like your waist mod, seali.

DOTM PG is a possible donor.  

But I like DOTM PG as well.

Or maybe cut at bicep, precision drill then stick a rod. Voila.

I did this elbow mod today along with the waist mod while I was home on snow day. Great work to both you and Seali for the ideas. Power Glide looks 100 times better now. If only we could fix his plane mode.

 

Can anyone tell me the size of the balljoint in millimeters? You probably could use one of those "Flexable pipe kit" balljoints that hobbybase makes.

Edit, nevermind found my calipers. The balljoint is 4mm.

Huh. Forgot about this post...

The only reason I used a 2nd PG was for color matching. The knee ball was the perfect size, & obviously color. I have plenty of ball joint ball donor parts, but nothing that matched color-wise.
