Custom Dai Atlas (repainted King Atlas) by Lou B. (aka " char_leigh ") I've been wanting a Dai Atlas Transformers figure ever since I saw the confrontation between him and Star Saber in the Transformers: More than Meets the Eye comic book. Finding the original toy seemed out of the question. The Wonderfest Dai Atlas figure is too small. The Alternity Dai Atlas figure barely even resembles the character. I stumbled upon this used toy and when I saw it I immediately thought, "This guy sort of looks like Dai Atlas." So I purchased the beat-up toy. When I got home, I did some research and discovered that this toy was King Atlas. King Atlas was a repainted toy based off of the Generation 1 Skyquake and the Machine Wars Starscream. The newer paint scheme of King Atlas was inspired by the original Dai Atlas toy. After discovering this, I was pretty stoked. Not content with the overall look of King Atlas, I disassembled him, swapped his wings (left for right, right for left), and repainted sections of him -- better giving him a Dai Atlas feel. Although not perfect, I'm pretty happy with it. It looks closer to Dai Atlas than King Atlas did. And now, I'll have a toy to accompany Masterpiece Star Saber when he's released.
