Next in the hand upgrade series is the one, the only, Optimus Prime. I was expecting this modification to be much tougher but...so far, so good. And, I think he looks the business now. On this upgrade, I used a square styrene rod as wrist attachment. If you take apart Prime's forearm, you'll see that his hand swivels around a tube that is built into the wall of one half of the forearm. I basically took a rectangular section of the square rod, drilled a hole through it, in the longer side near one end, and slipped it onto the tube. That was the swivel sorted. To attach the hobby base mechanical hand (round, 1/100), I drilled a hole in the square end at the opposite end of the rectangle to the swivel hole. Inserted the hand and job done. I've included a few more pics to try and explain visually. As with the previous mods on the other figures, the hands are not painted yet.
