TFW2K5, Hey everyone, just finished another one I thought I would share with you fine folks This is my Candy Cliffjumper with Fakebuster Gatts. I must thank Fake for being such a BADASS!! and providing some of the coolest add ons out there. Well guys, thank you so much for all of your kind words and taking the time to look at all, everyone on this board is super cool. I have some of my others in the background that are in various stages of completion. Was a little too excited to take the pics last night, hope you understand lol
Thank you gentleman. I used Spaz Stix Candy Apple Red with their Silver Metallic Backer as a base coat. I have tried like everyone's paints in the last 6 months while I was trying to learn how you guys did such epic work. Spaz Stix is truly some of the best shit going, however, I some times spend more on the pain then on the figure lmao. I was rapping with Fakebuster this morning and he noticed which I found funny. He said that if I was going to use paints that good I may want to order more stuff in Frosted Ultra Detail lol. If you guys ever have any paint questions, let me know. Not that I proclaim to be an expert or anything, but I have trashed a lot of figures trying out everyone's paints. I wanted to get a line up of paints that are metallic and easy to apply, and I think I have finally figured it out Merry Xmas TFW2K5! You guys have all been awesome and very kind. I am very proud to be posting my stuff here, and overwhelmed at the kindness I have received
+1 Fakebusters work is epic! that being said so is your cliff jumper!!!!! going to have to import me some of that red candy. do they also do a purple for cons?
Duuuude, thank you so much. I cant tell you how much it means to get such nice things said from such pros at this, such as yourself I am sure This is the best site ever. My inner dork can just spread my wings here lmfao. Spaz Stix is literally some of the best paint I have tried, and I tried everything trying to get good enough results to be able to post them here lol. Thier Candy Red is fkn amazing! It is a process though. I use Spaz Stix plastic prep first "after washing the figure in soapy water and drying him". Then you need to either lay a base coat of SpazStix Silver Metallic, then the Candy color of your choosing. Or you can do Chrome "glosss black base, then mirror chrome", then your candy color. The chrome base will make the figure highhly more reflective, however, most all the guys I have done have been done with the Silver Metallic base, then the red. Tamiya Spray laqour metallic red will create a nice candy red as well, but in the side by side, the spaz stix is a little nicer and more hints of maroon in it, making it more blood colored. But just a little nicer, from 10 ft you couldnt tell the difference between the two. Tamiya is a little cheaper. And yes they make a Candy Purple as well, but I actually prefer Testors one coat laqour PurpleLiscious for this. It is a really nice purple, and if you do a silver metallic base, it is pretty. The Spaz Stix candy purple is a little dark for me, almost bordering on black from a distance. Thier "true purple" is a flat non metallic look so it isnt great for this either. I like Purpleiscious I have a Shockwave that I am working on "Prime Voyager BH" and when he is done you can see the results, but that prolly wont be for a few weeks as I am doing a voyager "Prime FE Optimus Prime" in Candy Red right now lol. I am seriously stupidly in love with this Candy Red. And before ANY OF YOU order Spaz Stix Paints......DO NOT GO TO AMAZON......as I have found the cheapest place ever to buy all of this shit. Active Powersports - RC Car Parts Accessories - Traxxas HPI Ofna Team Associated Kyosho They are soooo cheap for all model paints, check them out. I get double what I used to get from Amazon for the same money. Thank you for asking such a great question, it is my pleasure to share with you guys as you shared with me for the last year while I was learning to do this, thank you.
