This is my Classics Targetmaster Pointblank with Minicon Peacemaker.

He is made using Transformers Prime: Beast Hunters Prowl. The reason I used Prowl was because of several mold details that resembled G1 Pointblank. The mold's bumper shoulders reminded me of the shoulders on the original, the doors were able to be positioned low to look similar to the folded doors on the G1 toy and the light blue vehicle roof being attached to the light blue arms allowed for him to keep his G1 color scheme without awkward areas on the arms. The robot knees also reminded me of the light blue knees on the original toy.

Some may note that he looks more like his Japanese Headmasters cartoon self rather than his American G1 Cartoon self. That is intentional as the American cartoon versions of the Targetmasters were not that good.

The most major modifications were made to his head, chest and shoulders.
His helmet is molded using Power Core Combiners Huffer's gestault head. His face is molded using Cybertron Crosswise with his visor removed. His chest cavity had to be extensively trimmed to accommodate the new head. The flip-up chest panel was substantially modified with a molded and modified windshield, roof and window chest piece from Prime Wheeljack. The back of the legs required trimming to prevent paint damage to/from the shin panels during transformation. The hood panels were removed from the attachments at the windshield, the hinges were removed and the hood panels were attached to the front bumper pieces. The attachment points on the windshield were cut off. I also trimmed the rubber accessory from the Prime Beast Hunters Smokescreen that I had used for my Classics R.I.D. Speedbreaker (Sideburn) and attached the rubber pieces to the hoos halves to simulate the hood from G1 Pointblank. Other modifications involved trimming areas to allow transformation without paint wear. The flames and Autobot symbols were printed on paper and krazy glued on.

For Peacemaker, I used Cybertron Shockwave. His head is molded using Power Core Combiners Pinpoint. I also cut off the wings and thrusters from his arms and trimmed and filled in areas of his chest and shoulders. I removed his cockpit and cut the nose in half and attached the gun from Cybertron Clocker and a grooved panel from a CD case.

I used Testors enamels to paint him. Colors used were flat red, a custom darker red, a custom light blue, flat black, sea blue, silver and a custom gray for the windows. I also used Krylon Matte Finish spray to flatten the paint.

Looks like you painted it with a brush.. Should of used a mini can of Red Kryon Short cuts..
It makes the red come out more even... and several light coats to get the proper effect..

The blue and red clash with my eyes... The figure looks good, but my eyes are hurting bright blue and red together..

Yea, I always brush paint my customs. I haven't used spray paints due to ventilation issues and I like the amount of control and precision I can get with a brush. The unevenness doesn't show in real life, only in photographs with flash. And I do use several thin coats for thorough coverage.

I could have used a darker blue but decided to stick with the G1 color scheme since a darker blue would make him look too similar to my other Targetmaster, Crosshairs. Also the light blue is a lot less neon in real life. I had thought about coloring in the back window with the "window gray" (which would have lessened the amount of light blue in vehicle mode), but the original guy only had a windshield and side windows, so I stuck with accuracy over aesthetics.

On the G1 Figure the red is slightly softer, no red glare or clash with the light blue.. I'm not saying its a bad job, it does look good.. as for ventilation, I have a small room to where I do my work, the fumes have never stopped me.. The dust however from residual spraying does really annoy me... I have found that some enamels are good to use and don't leave paint streaks.. But they really kill your brushes if you don't clean them with a paint thinner..

I'm thinking your eyes are off or your monitor is causing the clash, cause it looks like the same coloration (pretty dang close) as the G1 figure he posted.

Great job on the figure OP!

Thanks everyone. I'm hoping Hasbro decides to give the Targetmasters some love soon. We had some hope when we got Energon Slugslinger, more hope when we got Universe Cyclonus with Nightstick and even closer with the addition of Headmaster Brainstorm.

As for future plans... well, I can't have Pointblank and Crosshairs with no Sureshot. So stay tuned for Sureshot in the (somewhat) near future.

Did you completely miss Scoop and his not one, but two Targetmasters? ;)

This is a really nice custom, the colours are just as hideous as the originals were, you've matched them really well :thumb

Ok, yes, I forgot to mention him. My bad, but G1 Scoop was part of Season 5 when I was barely collecting and he wasn't in any of the cartoons. So my hopes were to get Season 4 Targetmasters and Headmasters from Hasbro.

Also, nothing against the recent Scoop release. I have one as a WIP towards a Car Robots/RID - Build Boy/Wedge custom. And I may be using his Targetmaster partners for other customs (Including possibly Prime Stepper/Ricochet with Nightstick).

    LOL, Thanks.
