So I am still working my way back to getting to TF projects, but I decided to start trying to do figures and working with acrylics. The inspiration for this figure is the title character of a friend of mine's book, The Dead Sheriff (which is available on Amazon if you want to read a great supernatural western). I wanted to do a figure of the character for my friend for a Christmas gift. I started with a couple DC Classics 6" Jonah Hex figures and removed the cavalry emblem from the hat, CSA logo from the belt buckle, cut the strips of flesh away from the scarred side of the face to make it more open, drilled a few bullet holes in him, added a badge cut off an old COPS figure, and used the bandolier and holster of one figure to make a second gun belt for the other. Primered him up and then painted him with some Model Masters acrylics. After some weathering I did a black wash, touched his eyes up a bit to get the extra white glowy feel to them and sealed him with Testors dullcote. I took an old McFarlane Movie Maniacs line poster frame and printed copies of the book cover art, clear coated them, and glued them to a piece of clear plastic and stuck it into the frame to display along with him. The character in the book doesn't use a shotgun, but since I had one I did a wash on it too and stuck it in with him. I had a lot of fun getting photos of him and now he gets wrapped up to go to his new home. Without further ado, may I present Mark Justice's The Dead Sheriff!
