So I was going through some art on deviantart one day and I came across this really cool looking drawing of a Seeker and another bot April OC 07 - Crossfire and Skydreamer by will-Ruzicka on deviantART. Well I'm all about the seekers and the infinite number of ways to customize them, so I set about trying my best to turn the drawing into an actual figure. I truly felt the color scheme was a great choice. Skydreamer started as a Hasbro Acid Storm. White over green is not the easiest thing to accomplish, but I think he came out nicely. Since the only reference point was this drawing I had to decide how the lower half and then the jet mode were going to look. I think I came up with a pretty nice overall scheme that hopefully conveys the original artists work. Thanks to artist Will Ruzika on deviantart for the inspiration.
The color scheme is really cool! Nice job as always...may I ask what white that you used to paint him? Coot
Sure. I used Tamiya Matte White over a base coat of Tamiya Fine Surface primer Yes...Yes they are. I can never quite get them as perfect as I want them to be, but that just gives me something to aspire to.
I usually use an existing figure ( like Takara Sunstorm ) and measure out the width of each stripe on each end and bend, then use Tamiya masking tape and carefully mask out a straight line. Here's an example of one I did : http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-customs/965599-another-mp-11-skywarp.html
I use masking tape as well, but I usually end up free handing the separation between the colors. I should probably break out my compass and do a more precise job while drawing the separation line.
