It looks like you've been very Bee-sy here! (Apologies, it's just nobody had done that one yet.) I'm really quite envious of this collection you've made! Great stuff!!

Thanks for noticing that! It was kinda fun trying to figure out the different combinations. There's alot of 3rd party head/gun and some spoiler options but I could always use more!

BEElieve it or not, I'm walking on air... thanks to all of you! :D

I could have made even more! I'm now eyeing a yellow Renderform Hubcap head, that'll go on my "toy accurate" bumblebee figure (that'll be replaced by the upcoming MP Bumblebee with face mask) to be Hubcap, then I'll get a Gold Scout orange Renderform head to turn that RTS bee into South American Volks. There's also black versions of Bumblebee and Cliffjumper as well as other color variations but since I'm a slow worker bee I won't tackle them for awhile.

I'm glad this thread got resurrected because these are still sensational.

(You did Goldbug, would you at this point be open to doing Chase, Searchlight, and Freeway from the Classics Bee mold? I mean, that's essentially sort of what you did with the last three guys...)

Thanks guys! With the addition of MP Bumblebee and his variants to my classics collection I've been repurposing some of the customs/modified figures into other characters or toys. But I've always felt that this mold had untapped potential and should have gotten at least as many recolors as say the classics Seeker figure into unique characters instead of being mostly Bumblebees. Hooper_X, I'm using the 3rd party Toyworld Throttlebots for Chase and the gang so I don't have any plans to make them.

So now that I have a "real" toy accurate Bumblebee (I put him into the Diaclone/Microchange display) and G2 Bumblebee with the MP releases (also have MP Red Bumblebee coming soon with custom faceplate):

The ones I were using for those guys has now become Orange Volks (RTS Bumblebee with Renderform Gold Scout Orange head) and Brazilian Gold Carrera (United Bumblebee with repainted FOC Cliffjumper head):

I was able to track down the Beelzeboss Devil Horns yellow version custom kit for my Yellow Cliffjumper (before I was using a repainted FOC Cliffjumper head) as well as a yellow Renderform Hub Scout head for my Hubcap (yellow body is more G1 accurate).

With the release of Delta Magnus ( Shattered as….) I’m putting together a diaclone / micro change team for him to lead and I am going to use this thread as inspiration for a few. Glad I didn’t ditch these toys when I bought the more accurate to the animation new ones that have come out recently . While I disliked them as the G1 cartoon characters that we all know and love and gladly bought the new more accurate ones , These classics toys are still quite good toys that stand up very well to modern toys . And now , these diaclone / micro change characters will be more than just repaints, now they will have unique molds .

This is exactly what I have been looking for, MGS-X head on Toyworld Bii, he looks great.... Is he still your definitive Bumblebee? If you were doing this today would you do anything different? Does He Transform still nicely?

Thanks! I actually went Legends scale for my Minibots, so the Toyworld Bii with MGS-X head is retired for now in favor of the Hot Soldiers versions of Bumblebee and Cliffjiumper. If I recall, he transformed ok with the head, the ball joint wasn't a perfect fit but it was decent. If I was making the Bee Swarm today, I'd probably use the Legends scale or the recent Deluxe scale figures for customizing.

Very cool, I actually got that barrel chested Bee yesterday as I hoped I could transplant his head onto Toyworld Bii (no chance the size difference is too great.)

I am now thinking the MGS-X head would be the trick just need to paint his face that light grey and give him so bright eyes(?)

The Goldbug is such a cute figure so hard to get here in Australia.

finally got my MGS-X pack of heads, the ball joint socket in the Bumblebee head is too tight to go on the Bii body while the other heads sit too loose.

for the Bumblebee head do you remember if you shaved the socket down a bit?

It's been awhile so I don't really remember and the figures are packed up in my basement so I can't easily double check. I may have just (foolishly) jammed it on with brute force but I'm not 100% sure and I wouldn't do that now :)  Loose can be remedied with some floor polish or tape. For too tight maybe lightly sand the socket on the MGS-X head with sandpaper or a dremel. Good luck!
