I finally decided to use my junker prime for experimenting with gold, the results are quite nice, but not perfect. I originally intended this guy to be pre beast wars Primal, but didn't feel any inspiration to finish it. So I sanded down and repainted into this quick and dirty gold prime with black and silver paint apps. still missing a foot so I made one from craft foam as a "stand in".......... Added a few 24k plated autobot stickers to the shoulders and some repros to the hands. not exactly gold lagoon or lucky draw prime, but he does sit well with my custom gold mp12's. My first masterpiece is what got me back into transformers and I love the figure so much that I repair junkers as a hobby. http://i1292.photobucket.com/albums/b561/Craftystransformers/goldprimeandlambos015_zps1f0b46e2.jpg So there you go a junker turned golden.
That looks great! Like the Autobot insignia on the backs of the hands as well. All those MP-01s looks awesome together!
Once again cheers guys, I wasn't too keen but its grown on me. Amazing how the best planned customs can turn out really bad and the random ones with no thought into them are fun and have a better result.
awesome custom , all those gold autobots remind me of the "golden lagoon" episode. like you said, it's quick and dirty, so some of the finishes aren't great but the overall aesthetic is very cool, i'd love to see what it looks like in alt mode. on the subject of customization difficulty, i think the better planned customs are often far more ambitious than the weekend fun projects, and thus the planned customs are significantly harder to execute well, whereas the weekend projects are relatively simple and easily executed. that being said, i've still managed to screw up a few weekend fun projects
