I got a PS4 Slim. I still don't have much time, so I haven't done a whole lot with it yet, but I did give Star Wars Battlefront ago. Jan 15, 2017

I purchased a PlayStation TV a few weeks ago and it is actually really neat! Playing PSP and Vita games in full HD on your TV and with a PS4 controller is an amazing experience. The vita memory card was pricey but worth it, I can't wait to check out Killzone Mercenary and Earth Defense Force 2. My favorite PSP games I had are actually playable on this thing and they are Star Wars Battlefront Elite Squadron and Renegade Squadron and they play very well with twin sticks!

The Star Wars Battlefront skirmish mode is amazing! The bots are really good and on one of the Hoth maps they can even drive chicken walkers into the caves. It has made the game feel closer to the originals and I'm glad I kept it all of this time. DICE even made a lot of improvements to the gameplay and weapon balancing and it feels fantastic. The starship mode is also loads of fun and the bots aren't push overs in that mode either. Definitely worth the wait!

More offline modes are coming to Star Wars Battlefront EA next week! Now the game will finally have real offline single-player and splitscreen gameplay instead of the crappy battles mode and the actually cool survival maps. For some reason PSN gave me two days of PS Plus and I jumped back into multiplayer and it is pretty fun but I know I'm going to a lot more fun next week with the bots. :lol Can't wait, also I'll finally be able to try the new maps, I love offline bot modes!!!! Not bad for paying 20 dollars at launch I guess even though it took 6 months for the real game. :sly:

Hopefully with Tekken 7 the story with straighten up. The inclusion of Gouki sounds pretty interesting since they came up with an interesting tale around him. Nice to hear Namco is on the right track. ;)

Now all we need is Capcom to get their heads straight and hopefully Marvel will consider Marvel Vs Capcom 4!

Namco went so over the top that it's often hard to take their fight to the death tournament seriously. Well, actually, it was hard doing that well before we got to 7, as hardly anyone ever seemed to die, and even those who did, so how came back, lol--can't piss of the fans, man:lol

Tekken's latest game, however, just might do that. I don't know if you're aware of this or not, But Gouki (Akuma) from Tekken is on loan and is making an appearance in a very big way. He knew the protagonist's' wife and had made a promise to her before the 1st game started. This game, tekken 7 is an end of an era, closing out a major (half-assed story talking point Namco's been toying with for the past 20+ years).

I agree with every single point you said.

In the case of Namco Bandai's Tekken endings, I recall reading the endings in Tekken were the way they were because they wanted to leave their options open--they didn't want to tell people who won the tournament before they had a story for the games successor and also that they didn't want to disappoint fans by making their favorite character lose, which is stupid since every character can win--there's got to be a loser, and everyone playing the game knows that this is how a tournament works, lol.

It's hard to say they're lazy, as it's got to take a creative mind to come up with those off the wall endings, that I wouldn't have been able to think up if tasked to do what they've done and continue to do. But still, they could have told a cohesive story that was satisfying to fans and the characters too.

Those endings are over the top random, ridiculous, and preposterous. :inquisiti There is no point to them since everyone basically loses and they have nothing to do with the intros. It's a slap in the face to the players and the characters. You invest this time to fight through all of the stages to just receive some lame half-assed ending that a 7 year old could of thought of.

At least Capcom's endings in Plasma Sword and Marvel Vs Capcom 3 get to the point but I wish it was something more like a cinematic or something and not some 5 second slideshow. It's literally only like 2-3 slides that you read in comic book form. :banghead: The intro's are always cooler than the endings, such a shame. :(

That's sounds hilarious but not for a fighting video game though. Maybe it would be best for them to go back to just slideshow endings like the in the 90's. :p But seriously couldn't Capcom and Bandai just hire real writers or something? They should have a lot of money especially Bandai Namco being in the toy business and Capcom with their remaster pocket change. :lol

Injustice has a story because of Ed Boon, the guy behind the Mortal Kombat games.

I don't know if his stories are my cup of tea, but at least he puts effort into them:)

Capcom and Bandai can't figure out how to write a cohesive story with comedy subtleties, they often go full comedy complete with kangaroos, dinosaurs and bears that act like humans in their stories and humans walk around with sushi platters and ramen bowls strapped to their person--who the hell does that?!
    15. CommandoNinja13
      CommandoNinja13
Well I noticed it's not just fighting games who are omitting stories, some shooters are starting to such as Star Wars Battlefront EA (Every single Battlefront game before this one had a story mode and they were actually pretty good. The original did have a story but it followed the movies with scenes from them though.) But I think that trend is starting to stop for shooters because EA's Battlefront 2 and Titanfall 2 are supposed to have a story.

But for a fighting game story I think Injustice had a great one and that's the only fighting game story I really cared about. Marvel Nemesis had an aright story too. Most Capcom games just seem to be all about the action which is ok in my opinion but a good story wouldn't hurt once in awhile. They use comic book licenses but they really don't create stories for them. Even Plasma Sword from them barely had a story and it would be really neat since it's basically Japanese Star Wars.

Well, seeing how Street Fighter V's story is shaping up, maybe Marvel's holding out for a company that'll put just as much effort into story as those building a unique gaming experience. Capcom can't tell a compelling story for $#!+. Resident evil is over the top, and Street Fighter will bring you to tears. Saddly, Japanese gaming companies don't seem to care about stories found in the fighting genre, and I assume it's because many people often say things like "it's a fighting game, so why worry about the story?"

I think there's a story to be told in everything, and not all of them are horrible. If Street Fighter showed just as much passion in its stories as what was put into the game graphically, it would truly be something talked about for many years to come.

Capcom has actually been talking about making a new Marvel game but they said Marvel hasn't contacted them about it so they haven't done anything with it. They also haven't had the license since 2014 because MVC Origins was delisted awhile back and it wasn't even 2 years old yet.

Same thing happened to Activision but they obviously renewed the Marvel license last year because they relisted a lot of Spider Man and crossover games and are selling new copies of Deadpool. I also heard a rumor about a Marvel Ultimate Alliance dual pack coming to PS4 and Xbox One along with the War for the Cybertron series. I hope that is true because it would include the Carnage dlc pack on the disc. :thumb

You know? With Marvel being such a hot commodity these days, I'm surprised Capcom hasn't made a new version of Marvel vs Capcom game, it would be spectacular, uncanny, amazing...might?:p

Early this June I got a Sega Dreamcast and it is an amazing system. The games for it are tons of fun and you can even get an HDMI output for it! It even has my favorite racer of all time which is Star Wars Episode 1 Racer and it is way better than the N64 version. Marvel Vs Capcom 1 and 2 on the Dreamcast are actually better than the PS3 downloadable versions since the Dreamcast shares similarities to the arcade cabinet's motherboard. The graphics are actually quite excellent for being from 1999! I can definitely see why the Xbox and Xbox 360 have similarities to this console because it is awesome.

My GameCube/Wii collection is growing quite a bit. It's small but dedicated, and I just got X-Men legends 2 and the original Spider-Man movie game (A couple of my childhood favorites from the PS2.) and I already have a few rare games. I also bought a component cable for the Wii and it looks really nice now! Pretty detailed and makes the GameCube games look a lot better. :thumb

Later this month or early next I want to try to get a Sega DreamCast. It has a lot of nice features and cool games. You can even use a mouse and keyboard with and it also supports VGA so it's like playing a old 90's PC, but better! I am going to use it on a TV even though computer monitors are an option.
