Isn't this the same customer service system that claimed MP-10 would not be a TRU exclusive in the US? I don't get why people keep believing their responses. They have a 95% inaccuracy rate.

LOL, scheduled for Nov. 2014 but actually release would be sometime in 2015.

I was expecting Soundwave to get a US release the Lambo cars are what I'm worried about.

TRU Australia stocks the Takara versions, correct? This might just be them confirming they're getting a shipment of those.

As I have said before, it is a 99.9% certainty that Soundwave, AND his minions will be released for 2013 Holiday shoppers at TRU.

Just what I was thinking, this doesn't confirm anything about a Hasbro release.

Well, if this is an indication that Hasbro will have an MP Soundwave release and that it's going to be a TRU Exclusive (which it doesn't seem to be) then I look forward to the same fulfilling experience I had with getting MP Optimus from TRU.

That is lots of cancelled online orders, price hikes, and never *ever* seeing one in stores.

Although now that the holidays have passed I see lots and lots of MP Thundercrackers in stores.

I haven't been following along... why is it that MP Optimus is impossible to find, but MP Thundercracker is shelf-warming? Is it just down to the popularity of the character or are there logistical issues at work, like distribution problems, etc.?

    Sweet, sweet news.

Now to see the exact dates, the exact paint scheme, and the exact included accessories.

Here's to hoping Laserbeak doesn't get shafted in the paint department.

Popularity plus the paint deco if I was to guess.

MP Prime has a VERY good paint deco, some would say better than the Takara paint job. MP Thundercracker's paint job is...um...polarizing. I'm sure many collectors have been turned off by it.

(Which Hasbro reads as "people really didn't want an MP TC; that's what we get for trusting the fanboards" and not "fire the schmuck who half assed the deco".)

I would say it's some logistical deficiency on TRU's part.
I know my friends in Albuquerque said MP Prime was well stocked there, but here in Dallas I never saw one at a store. I had three online orders with in-store-pickup that were cancelled and one where I traveled 30 miles to the store to find out they didn't have it.

An employee at the TRU in North Dallas told me that they had two guys who came into the store every morning and if they had any MP Primes in stock they would buy every one.

In regards to MP Thundercracker I only saw that in one store prior to Christmas. There was an unopened case sitting up in the overstock shelf. I told an employee that he might want to get them down and stock them because it was a hot item and wasn't on the shelf. He told me that it was on the shelf I just didn't see it. So, I pulled it down and opened it in front of him and said "Where do you see this on your shelf?"

Now that it's after Christmas I see MP Thundercracker at every TRU, but still no Optimus.

I have little doubt that Optimus vs. Thundercracker is sufficient to explain the disparity.

I remember that before announcing MP rodimus, Hasbro started showing Roddy a bit of love re-releasing the deluxe two times, one of them with a comic. I always thought that was to put him back on the public's minds (I mean those who aren't super knowledgeable fans). They did it again with Thundercracker later. They seem to be doing the same with Soundwave lately, which supports my theory that they'll announce their version somewhere this year.

They always give some time to Takara to sell theirs first however. I can't wait for Soundwave so I ordered the japanese version this time.

I'm totally getting 2 Takara ones and 2 Hasbro ones.

I'm guessing the Hasbro one comes with 3 cassettes.

    I love this thread :D

From a response that doesn't say anything specific at all in a region that actually sells Takara Masterpiece figures on the shelves we now have concrete evidence that Hasbro is releasing Soundwave and that he will come with 3 tapes.

You couldn't make it up.....well actually.....

And he's a fully functional cassette player with a brand new copy of Michael Jackson's Thriller included in the box.
