Not excited - but I have already paid for it. I like where Tomy seem to be going with the line, so I am on board.
Very excited, I actually prefer the look of his bot mode to Sideswipe, will probably keep Sideswipe in car mode when I get Alert.
Very excited. Because that means my huge box from robot kingdom will finally be shipping out. Sideswipe included. He has the crazy sunbow style short circuiting effect parts. Hopeing that takara can keep pushing this line for g1 cartoon accuracy.

I'm not in a rush to get him. I already own Sideswipe, so I already have a preferred version of the mold. My next MP purchase will be Soundwave. Red Alert is kind of secondary.
I'm hoping to get him before Christmas. Although its looking like the stars arent in my favor at this point, seeing how BBTS hasn't recieved him yet. Looking more like a New Years gift now.
I'm waiting for a US release on all of the Masterpieces. Hopefully if Hasbro does him he has a black head and Soundwave yellow eyes. (I prefer G1 toy color accuracy over cartoon).
Ideally I would grab one from HLJ to ship with other stuff. I'm not banking on it though. If it wasn't for More Than Meets The Eye thrusting him back in the spotlight I might have passed on him. Now I'm all OHMAGERD! RERDALERD!
People wanted Red Alert to look more like the cartoon design, but without a major retool or a completely new mold, thats not going to happen. What we got is good enough. I don't care about it being cartoon accurate.
Red looks great. Even though he was an obvious Sideswipe remold I'm still extremely happy to see a MP made of a non A-List character!
Its because Red Alert was the best choice to repaint Sideswipe into that he got chosen. Other color schemes on the 1984 Sideswipe mold are more obscure, including the G2 Sideswipe color scheme.
This is a tough figure for me. I HATED Red Alert growing up, ABSOLUTELY HATED HIM. It's funny how one episode, Auto Berserk, made me hate RA more than any other Transformer! However, his toys are amazing.....
