I scoured forums wondering whether or noth the PRID Cliffjumper head could be fit onto the GDO Cliffjumper. Despite all the "It's impossible"s I've found, I said NAY, and found a way to fudge his head on. It's not very pretty from the back, and some painting and chopping is required to make it work, but it's much better than shelling out 50-60$ for the actual release of him.
I didn't even spend 50-60 on the SDCC exclusive cliffjumper let alone a FE. And I never realised you couldn't get that head on the FE toy?
You can pick up FE Cliffjumper now at most TRU stores for $16. Heck even the Terrorcon Cliffjumper is there now.
Could you possibly give a tutorial for this? I have both figures and I would like to have a FE Cliffjumper without paying the high price on the aftermarket.
I can try to make a tutorial for those who want it, but it will have to wait till tomorrow so i can have better lighting.
The only cutting required is for the light piping piece to make it not stick out as much. The RID face screws right in to the light piping piece made for the GDO head, although not a perfect fit. The back is just a cut up back head piece of the rid head to keep it in place, although you could just glue it in and it would do the same thing.
Nice job on the head swap, been wondering if this would fit. How does the paint match up since GDO is kind of speckly? Are you sure about that? The FE case assortment in the boxes I've opened include 2 each of Terrocon Cliffy. Arcee, Vehicon & Starscream. Then of course there's the afore mentioned GDO Cliffy, but I've not seen new stock of the original FE version.
This is correct. There was some talk a month or two back that there might be a second wave/revision wave of FEs that replaced Terrorcon Cliff with the original non-zombified version but I've never heard of this actually being sighted anywhere and I'd filed it under "wishful thinking." Unless something changed without my knowledge (which is certainly possible) Non-Zombie FE Cliff hasn't been on shelves since the original release. So this is certainly a way to go for those that missed it.
It's a little off, by which I mean the RID head is a little bit brighter red and is noticeable, but it's not so much different that it's horrible.
Nice job! While the normal FE head is a nice sculpt, I kinda feel that this one is much better in proportion to his body (not so much a melonhead). If only there was some way to sway the FE and the RID's feet while still retaining the transformation, then it'd be absolutely perfect!.
