Do you think the omitted Autobots aren't part of the series anymore?

Yesterday I was thinking back to a post I made about thinking that there was an error with Simmons saying "exiling 9 Autobots" when it occurred to me that perhaps the number was wrong if we include the Twins, Jolt and any surviving bike-bot.

But I'm sure that the number stated was a reflection of the number of Autobots residing on Earth at that time as there would be nothing to gain in keeping 3+ Autobots without their leader. In fact if the other Autobots were out there I'm sure that procedure would call them back so they could be sent out to space with the others.

This leads back to the age-old issue of these characters not even getting a mention as if they didn't exist in the first place. But they did and most of believed that they simply weren't in the film. The fact that the exiling should have brought them into the picture yet didn't raises this question if the movie-verse purged the other Autobots from the continuity.

    Pretty much this.

The little guys Wheelie and Brains didn't count either, in addiction to how small they are.

That seriously sucks. The thing is that the writer even gave Wheelie and Brains a significant role ultimately and Brains was a new character.

Yea, I'm gonna go with eacy7 or whatever, those guys can be considered dead. I'm pretty sure they were all killed off in the comics.

Simmons doesn't know crap. He's been sipping tea on a $100000000 chair and writing books for the last three years, not living it up with NEST and getting to know all the Bots, let alone how many are left.

Also, I'm pretty sure Arcee, Chromia, Skids, and Mudflap all survive the comics and disappear in the film (other DOTMs have Skids and Flaps bite the dust, but Arcee and Chromia simply vanish).

Not to forget that Skids and Mudflap were going to appear and then die in DOTM. thus a futher explenation on the 9 autobots thing.

Shockwave killed him, 2 years before the events of DOTM Happened

Ex-Decepticons Wheelie and Brains are the ones that dont count. Simmons was reffering the other Autobots (the ones working for NEST)

Like I mentioned in my topic ages ago I was wondering when the decision to cut the Twins was made seeing as they should have been included in that count. That would have made 11 including Brains and Wheelie who at that time were considered Autobots otherwise I'm sure they would have been destroyed ages ago.

It's just a little unsettling that characters literally vanished. It's one thing to just disappear but at a time where they really should be mentioned they just aren't.

Question: Would it have been so hard to substitute the new additions for the omitted characters?

I wouldn't object to having the only new addition be Que as he could have been working with NASA to build the Xanthium (sp). The twins could have taken up 2 Wrecker slots while Jolt could have taken up the 3rd and then it's debatable if Wheelie and Brains needed to be included at all or as much as they were and instead we could have had Arcee.

No, they were never intended to be part of that count, since Sentinel would had killed them at the same moment he killed Ironhide, which was before this scene took place

Considering Skids and Mudflap werent seen for the rest of DOTM, it suggest that Sentinel killed off screen in the film (and not just in the adaptations)

they survived, but considering they arent in DOTM, its likely they are dead now

Where she's is more appreciated by her true loyal fans.

If they're gonna kill off everyone except for Prime and Bee (maybe Rachet too),
then they will need to come up with a decent explanation.

Very true. It's sad how ultimately Bay crumbled under the pressure of the risk of including them. Still, having an explanation as to what happened to some of the cast in a medium that a significant number of people don't have access to or are even unaware of is pretty silly. Plus it's unclear how much of the Transformers in the books, comics and games are actually canon to the movies.
