TFW Review: Autocracy #8 - Transformers Comic Books and Graphic Novels - TFW2005 Download it tomorrow and discuss here!
I didn't like this series, but now I'm starting liking it. Spoiler Orion Pax & Megatron vs. Zeta Prime (and Ultra Magnus, possibly) will be nice.
This book does not get enough respect. Hell it's better the G1. Wake up an buy this book. It's only a damn dollar.
I want to like this book, but it just feels so shoe-horned in, I'm having so much trouble at this point understanding how Optimus could possibly have ever lead an army against Megatron. and the fact that it destroys my IDW collection Vol. 1
With me, the thing is, I just don't care about the story it tries to tell. At this point, all that matteres to me is to see Optimus get Primed. When they first announced Autocracy, I thought it will be set waaaaay before the war, and show us more about Cybertron society. But as it is now... Whateves. It's just not a story that was needed to be told IHMO.
I think my biggest issue with Autocracy is it's smaller sized "gimmick". The issues just feel really rushed. Like, not enough detail on the event happening, and really only one event at a time or something. If that makes sense. I kind of liked this issue, but then, like Magnus just sort of shows up and he's all "sure I'll help you".
It was nice that they didn't hold off Magnus as a cheap cliffhanger. The moment I read "SOMEONE GET ME ULTRA MAGNUS!" I figured he was going to show up in one panel at the very end just to get everyone to buy the next one.
character-wise, everything sort of falls back into place when Megatron shoots Optimus in the back. Personally, i can totally see a realistic development forward from that point that make Optimus into the noble leader of the Autobots and Megatron the corrupted idealist that took things too far. I think this is a very good series.
I was expecting zeta going later. I think from now it going to be the alpha trion rebuild Orion story.
