Who do you prefer? Galvatron or Megatron? It's argued (and my opinion) that they are one and the same. And also that they aren't. For the purposes of this thread, we're talking aobut movie Galvatron (basically Megs.) Anyway, who do you prefer? Personally, I prefer Galvatron. This is mostly becuase of his alternate mode. He transforms into a turret, which he can operate by himself, whereas as Megatron (in the cartoon, anyway) he transformed into a gun, and was always operated by another Decepticon, such as Soundwave, or Starscream. Who he later killed, something he never would've done as Megatron, despite having clear reason to do so. How about you?
megatron,he is more sane and thus better able to handle a war, galvatron is a short circut, cool but crazy.
The only Galvatron that made sense to me was G1. Every other was a random redeco and Megatron renames himself to Galvatron for no apparent reason.
The Unicron Trilogy Galvatron, I assume? That annoyed the hell out of me. He wasn't always that way. During the movie, he was mostly sane and in control. It was after that he was imbalanced. And as I recall, he returned to his normal psche after the retun of Optimus Prime.
I dont know everything about galvatron but I remember him being a nut so I say megatron, its a catch 22 though being they are the same character.
I always had a bit of a fanfic in my head that explained Galvatron's insanity. I don't do fan fiction, but this just came to me a long time ago and I thought it was a neat way to bring Megatron back while keeping Galvatron around. In my story, it is revealed that Galvatron is not really Megatron, but a separate entity "downloaded" into Megatron's body, which was then reformatted by Unicron. They share memories and mannerisms and somewhat of a physical appearance (mostly in the cannon arm). Essentially, Megatron was overwritten by Unicron. He had his body taken away from him and he was forced into the recesses of Galvatron's mind. Galvatron's "insanity" was actually Megatron fighting to the surface. At some point Megatron manages to reach out to Soundwave, who is still completely loyal to him. He disables Galvatron and gets him to that Quintesson who brought Optimus back to life. Megatron is removed from Galvatron's mind and put into a new, more powerful body. Now not only does Megatron hate Optimus Prime and the Autobots, he's also none too fond of Galvatron, who is exiled along with Cyclonus and Scourge and some of the newer Decepticons who were introduced during his reign as leader. They formed a third faction, one which I never named. It's not the Predacons, since they're still around as a sub-group. I guess that's a long way of saying I like them both, but Megatron will always be better.
A recolor with more forms. But his reformating sorta made sense. Although I like the name Devil Gigatron better.
I'm not a fan of G1 Megatron. The alt mode kills me (HA!). Galvatron in the movie was cool but then in the series sucked. So the movie was the high point of G1 to me. Now Prime Megatron is far superior to either G1 characters.
Megatron was arrogant and Galvatron was just crazy. Even though Galvatron's craziness makes me cringe for the most part, I did enjoy the hell Cyclonous got him into in "Webworld" That's one the best G1 Season 3 episodes. "He IS crazy!"
Energon Megatron was always Galvatron in Superlink, and Megatron was always Megatron in Micron Legend, with the repaints still as Megatron or Galvatron, just "super". So, My personal canon has Armada Megatron is just Megatron and Energon Megatron is Galvatron. Cybertron and RID were just power up repaints with needless name changes. Personally, I like Galvatron better, just because he weilds more power.
I think Tony's remix of Metallica's One sums it up best for me. Megatron is trapped inside Galvatron, and that drives Galvatron Insane.
If we are talking about G1 only, G1 Megatron for sure as Galvatron was a nut case for most of the series. Now if its any version, Animated Megatron makes all Megatrons (Minus BW/BM Megatron and Prime Megatron) look stupid and Galvatrons too.
