The weibo page for X-Transbots is posting a picture of a custom Springer toy (marked Chris Vera 2008) , and together with text of X-Transbots Triple Changers in 2012.

    新浪微åšç™»å½• 新浪微åš-éšæ—¶éšåœ°åˆ†äº«èº«è¾¹çš„新鲜事儿

Not sure if this is a design they want to make, or if it's simply an example photo like the papercraft Ironhide they posted last year.

I'm not entirely sure why someone would make another third party Springer, but whatever, it's X-Transbots, the people who made copying a third party Powerglide a group sport.

Nothing about this has appeared on their english facebook page yet.

EDIT: I was actually able to get a response from someone at X-Transbots and they basically confirmed that they are not making the toy illustrated, it was just an example. They are announcing a line of third party Triple Changers in 2012. It will be the "XT" series. For those keeping track X-1 was their powerglide, XP-1 was their Devastator add on... XT-1 will probably be their first triple changer.

Now considering their habit of copying jizaitoys designs, the octane design we saw before becomes likely.

Hmm, interesting. I'm guessing it's just them sharing someone else's artwork with the 2008 tagline. I'll wait for a prototype before accepting for certain that they are working on one.

On the topic, whatever happened to Jizai's planned Octane?

Well, X-Transbots seems to be picking up all the all Jaizaitoys molds and trying to finish them (Ironhide, Galvatron), so that's a good question.

If this is Voyager/Ultra class I will snatch it up. If it's Deluxe like Warbot I'm gonna pass.

I'm with Sol Fury on this. ATM, I will take it as a possible concept, and nothing more.

Gotta admit, if they make a figure that looks like the pic it will surpass Warbot in looks.

I don't get why they would do a Springer, Blitzwing would sell like hotcakes.

I agree, this thing looks fantastic in bot mode. If the other 2 modes are even half convincing this should blow warbot and his $30 price increase out of the water. I really wanted a springer in my collection and never pulled the trigger on the hasbro or FP versions (I really don't like warbot, he looks cool from head on but if you look at him from the side he looks horrible)

I think, BW is a lot harder to do. Springer's two alt modes aren't that different from each other, and neither looks particualrly like any real world vehicle.

But we all want Blitzwing and I don't think anyone is expecting a sleel jet and a bulky tank. Give us two decent alt modes and a strong bot mode and the thing will sell.

the Chris Vera 2008 makes this a character model. I somehow doubt this is anything more than 3dsMAX or a Maya rendering. I mean, unless this toy is coming with independent fingers, multiple facial expressions and no visible joints of any kind.

Unless it's something not already done... :rolleyes2

    In otherwords, Blitzwing or GTFO.

*not sure that that Octane is enough of an improvement to bother with...

But Hasbro managed to design a jet and tank mode for Animated Blitzwing. Why can't someone do the same for a Classics counterpart?

God, I wish I knew. I remember being excited about Octane when Jizai first revealed him in 2008. Since then, zip. Nada. Not a sausage. I think the most likely explanation is that Jizai simply lost interest in the figure and dropped the whole thing. If it gets picked up by someone else for release I do hope they take the time to refine the design further. Needless to say, it was still in a rough stage and Octane's wings stick out at a ludicrous angle in robot mode.

Back on topic, considering how disappointed I was with Defender, I welcome another third-party attempt at Springer. I do wish they would go easy on the grey, though. As far as I remember, Springer's arms are supposed to be green.
