    Here it is!

Starscream starts off with a fairly accurate jet mode, with some robot bits underneath.

    IMG_5310.JPG

This one came without the missiles (They're on the way), but I think the three missile clusters are too big anyway. You'll notice the jet mode itself looks TINY, especially compared to other deluxe Starscream figures

    IMG_5309.JPG

This may lead to some parents passing, since it looks so small, but rest assured, there's a lot of awesome in that package! the legs fold out from underneath, the arms/jetpack form from the rear of the jet, and the head pops out from under the torso plate in the middle of the plane, and VOILA!

    IMG_5306.JPG

You've got a nice, tall, SINISTER looking Starscream. He looks great, and aside from a few paint issues, pretty screen accurate as well.

    IMG_5307.JPG

The forehead crest is grey, since they're are no other molded red bits, and since it's made of that soft rubber plastic, likely doesn't hold paint too well. Still, it's a great representation of the character, and I like that they got his trademark smirk in there. And for those curious as to how much bigger he is in robot mode:

Here's a quick turnaround to show off the sides and back/jetpack:

    IMG_5302.JPG

    IMG_5303.JPG

So all in all, he's not bad. The waist swivel is on a spring that locks into into place in both modes, so the first time transforming him you almost feel like he's going to break, since you have to use a little more force to get the waist to start turning, but once you get used to it it's fine. It lets the waist still swivel securely, but also locks it into place quite well, to avoid the whirlygig legs that Animated Prime suffered from.

Posability is solid, with balljoints in the shoulders, hips, and neck, swivels at the bicep, waist, and thigh, and hinges in the elbows, knees, and individually hinged ankles and toes, for good solid support in a lot of poses. Definitely recommended for everyone, and if you like Starscream, this should be a no-brainer to tide you over until we get the voyager version sometime next year. He can even grovel!

    Video review is live!

Oh, and if you want, a red sharpie fixes that head crest issue super fast and super nicely:

He just jumped to the top of my list!

Any chance of getting a comparison pic with TFA Starscream?

AMAZING! I love that pose at the end, totally Screamer-like. I can imagine him grovelling to Megatron there :lol

I'll try to get one tomorrow. All I have here with me is the other two deluxe Starscreams.

What a nifty little figure! I hope he'll get a voyager class mold at some point, I think this is the first iteration of Starscream that I absolutely adore.

Ah, great! In that case, I hope it turns out as well as the deluxe.

Whoa, after watching the video I can't believe how well engineered this figure is. This toyline is gonna rock, even though I haven't seen the series I MUST have TFP Soundwave.

Soundwave looked like he was going to turn out pretty awesome as well, if what we saw at Botcon was any indication.

He looks great, but all the prime toys are gonna need some black added to their eyes. Without it, their faces look wrong.

It's better. He had a cool "Not-Mechtech" weapon IIRC.

I don't remember if they showed the jet mode but I would imagine it'll be way easier to hide the leg kibble at Voyager sized.

Woah. That looks BOSS! Good transformation, good articulation, very screen accurate... not even going to wait for the Voyager here.

Damn, must have this Starscream, or at least one of the inevitable repaints! Likin' the articulation, 'bout all he's missing is wrists, fingers and that inward shoulder thing that Leader Starscream had due to the transformation. If there was a toy that had all that and wasn't a Leader or bigger and had a great vehicle mode and wasn't a crap character, I think that'd be the perfect toy right there.

Lovin' the backpack! This Starscream looks awesome! I only have three problems; the crest, missiles, and size. Hopefully the voyager will fix those problems. I might get both!

If I could make a request, I'd say take a shot with Animated Blurr if you can. Another tall, spindly figure with arguably some similarities in the stylistic aesthetics they pull off.

I try not to let vdeo reviews sway my purchasing decisions, but DAMN!
That is one seriously awesome figure. Seems like the engineering that brought us Animated stepped up a notch.
    Great review!
