This is a small review for MAIDENS JAPAN'S custom hammers for any version of the G1 mold Frenzy Rumble cassettes. Also comes with custom G1 Soundwave Head!

When this custom was first seen in the radicons it created a huge buzz and a big demand for MAIDEN JAPAN to produce more sets. Long story short, he has and is only making 100 sets that are individually numbered.

The quality and paint job are simply amazing. The hammers fit nice and snug and do not fall off. The pistons can move up and down and will pretty much stay in place where ever you want them.

This outside of all the third party add-ons has to be one of my favorites and best out there. This is one neat little add-on that has been long over due and I thank MAIDEN JAPAN for taking the time and offering this to the fans.

    On to the pics!!!!!

The hammers come sealed in a little baggy with a custom logo banner that shows Frenzy on one side and Rumble on the other. One side has a hand written number out of 100. Mine is 03/100:

Here is a shot of both with the hammers attached and the new Soundwave head, which is painted silver and not white like some of MAIDEN JAPANS early versions, the head can also fold back in for transformation:

And a shot of each Frenzy and Rumble with the hammers attached:

Back shot so you can see how they are simply attached:

Now that we have there is a super cool upgrade set with the hammers, the only thing alcking is better articulation on the cassettes to get them in some sweet poses. But the hammers alone make for a nice edition to a more G1 accurate version and some added bad-ass-ery!!!

I'm not going to lie I think those look outright awful. That Soundwave head is just wrong, why bother with a repro head when the original is perfectly fine? (not to mention the head is the wrong shade of blue :p ). Those pile-drivers could have been decent but they just look way to big. If they did not extend them out all the way and made them a shade smaller they could have worked but as it stands now they just look oversize and awkward.

Never had the Frenzy/Rumble tapes... no idea what they're like. The hammers look cool, though not exactly practical for the articulation on the tapes.

Soundwave head looks awesome... though the color looks off, I guess it might be the flash on the cameras used in these pictures.

Above all, however, I totally love the Iron Maiden reference.

How much will this set me back? I kinda want a set even though I don't *yet* have a frenzy and rumble.

    $50?
Too rich for my blood. FOLD.

i didn't see your name until after i read your post, SoundwaveCA.
kinda makes sense for your critique.
(who else to judge a Soundwave product?)

i am excited by the growing selection of accessories that these new companies are offering and damn, keep it coming.
but the MSRP's on these items is getting out of hand.
Having an item's run limited to 100 pieces hurts.

until balance between manufacturing costs and affordability on the shelf is found, i have to pass on a lot of these things, nice as they are.

like i said, though, keep this stuff coming. it keeps the TF hobby fresh, imo.
