I had no idea that Bay was in charge of the screenwriting.

Haven't you heard? According to the fanboys, Bay is responsible for everything, down to what food is served at the Craft Services table.

actually Bay is known to do a lot of rewriting or adding to the scripts on the fly. So, some of the lines, or lack of could be his doing.

Most directors allow some measure of ad-libbing on set. a lot of directors use pointless or overdone explosions too, but for whatever reason, Bay gets saddled with these labels.

I don't believe anyone has that mentality - however everyone believing them still to be Dinosaurs is heavily disappointed at the lack of any practical effects.

What? They are not cars and I find it funny that some actually think TFs that are named DinoBOTS as in dinosaur/robots, will be Dinos that transform into cars. My point is, you don't call them DinoBOTS if they are Dino's that transform into cars lol. Then they would be Dinocars.

For those concerned about there being too many Autobots, I was wondering if some Autobots were like Bumblebee and Optimus in having more than one vehicle mode during the course of the movie. For instance, have the Sonic and Pagani been filmed together? If not perhaps the same Autobot is initially the Sonic and later the Pagani? It seems the Sonic has been filmed in "Texas" scenes and the Pagani in "Hong Kong" scenes (although I have not seen every filming update or shoot). I could be wrong, and it is just as likely if not more so they are separate characters. The Bugatti, Corvette, and Hound definitely seem to have the same vehicle modes throughout.

I remember the Pagani was on the leaked call sheet, but I forget if the Sonic was, too.

They could go the TFP Predaking route and make them all turn out to be actually kinda smart.

You mean like in the way that the cartoon characters DINOSAUCERS were intelligent humanoid dinos? Somehow I think that would ruin the charm, legend, history, and mythos of the Dinobots.

But smarter Dinobots is how they started out in the Marvel comics (although Sludge was still kinda thick). And are generally portrayed in comics today too and are still pretty much enjoyed for it. The cartoon version isn't the be-all and end-all only version ever of the Dinobots. Maybe stupid Dinobots is the most well-known version but that doesn't mean it has to always be that way in future cartoons or movies. If anything TFP Predaking showed it can be something interesting for a 'stupid' beast character to actually turn out to be smart.
