You're right. I totally forgot about the original plot description which was very much about something humanity is working on getting out of hand. So we may end up with a little more Jurassic Park than we anticipated. Scientists attempt to create protoforms and control them and as Dr Malcolm said, "Life asserts itself"

I hope we get some voyager and an eventual leader class. I'm assuming they're going to look pretty good.

So, any chance the Dinobots will have at least one appearance where they are skinned and look like real Dinosaurs?

He said they aren't skinned and smooth like a real dinosaur. That's why my guess is they scan the fossilized remains around them and approximate a dinosaur form.

I'm still partial to the idea of a ship crashing 65 million years ago, causing the mass extinction and giving the Dinobots a reason to be there. With that, I would love to see them skinned before transforming/battling at least once and ripping the skin off.

And that's assuming they aren't Legion-class sculpted and articulated figures at the Deluxe and Voyager prices.

I have this real fear we might get really horrible, price-cutting toys this go around. I seriously hope this is just paranoia.

Fair enough, but for them to make a decent looking dino the tail is still required.. that's why I worry even with a leader (which might not even happen...) grimmy might be really a teenaged sized trex rather than his full sized self.

Personally I really really dislike organic transformers (yeah I never liked beast war series). So if they stay their mechanical dino modes, that'd be much better.

I agree, I want to see them look more mechanical and G1, than more like beast wars.

Only issue being that the dinosaurs in question are all from different periods of time, so they didn't all co-exist at one time.

Tonyformer, can you tell us for sure whether or not the Dinobots dinosaur designs accurately reflect the latest dinosaur theories as far as mechanical dinosaurs can push it? Like for example, will we be seeing Grimlock as an anatomically accurate Tyrannosaurus instead of the outdated tripodal version?

It'd be neat if the Dino modes looks to be a fusion of both the outdated style of the Dinosaur anatomy and the more correct anatomy of current Dinosaurs. I mean they don't have to be 100% accurate to the Dinosaur anatomy so they can be a little creative.

I hope not. I'd like the Movies Dinobots to fit in it's already established aesthetic.

I mean i still want Classics Dinobots but not like that.
