So it seems like we are going to get quite a few Deluxe toys packed in with issues of "Dark Cybertron Prelude" and "Dark Cybertron."

Well, we are getting a fair few Dark Cybertron issues, and they cross over equally with RiD and MtMtE, so...this may just scratch the surface.

What do you expect (not simply "want") out of this assortment of Deluxes?

To me it seems clear that not all the MtMtE-related stuff has been revealed. MAYBE the mini-cons relate to it, and MAYBE the MtMtE issues are just shipping with the villains of Dark Cybertron and crossover characters from RiD. But Hasbro seems to love the Lost Light as much as us if those Legends assortments are any indication.

I'm not sure who they'd do on the LL if not Chromedome (who's probably out for now, Club is making him out of Wheeljack). I'd like to think Brainstorm is a possibility, as well as Captain Rodimus. I know Rung's getting a lot of attention and he wouldn't be the first comic-only character tapped. I also wonder if they would make a Cybertronian Drift (which wouldn't exactly thrill me).

As for other RiD characters, I think that Ironhide and both Prowls are delightful designs. Not going to hold out for any Dinobots or Arcee because Hasbro's trained me too well...though Arcee would make a scary amount of sense.

As far as villains, I'm sure most of them have not been revealed to us, but I kind of wonder if Hasbro will FINALLY release another Jhiaxus figure. He's being hyped pretty heavily as the ultimate big bad of the whole universe. As for Shockwave, he has a toy already.

Oh yeah, and Flatline is out, Andrew Griffith de-confirmed any immediate plans for him.

 

A Voyager Legislator toy. Imagine being able to troop build a fucking Voyager toy.

Or slap a few Scavengers in, I have a feeling they'll creep into Dark Cybertron with Grimlock somehow. I could see as Misfire popping up as a toy

 

Skids is actually in Prelude wave, packaged with MTMTE #22.

Voyagers aren't comic pack-ins.

 

I could see us getting an IDW Arcee honestly. I'm actually upset she's not going to be in the prelude wave seeing as one of those issues focused on her pretty heavily. I think she's going to be a bit of a heavy player in Dark Cybertron and feel like her name holds some weight for Hasbro now to a degree. She gets a toy almost every line with the exception of the CHUG stuff and I really think its her time.

Not expecting any Dinobots though.

RID: Arcee, ArmadaScreamer, Rattrap, Scoop, Skywarp, and Minicons

Starscream is confirmed already. I'm not sure if the issue Skywarp is coming with was announced at all though. Still, a reused mold to save costs seems likely. Rattrap is rumored, and Arcee seems likely to me. Scoop is a bit of a tough one to peg down. It's possible he's going to be packaged with the issue he was most recently the focus of but with him coming out later down the line with these figures I think that issue might have been more for set up. The Minicons were a hard one to peg down for me but ultimately I think I'd rather they be RID featured characters since MTMTE has a good chunk of non-updated characters and I'd like this push to be used to get a good chunk of the core crew released too.

Brainstorm, Rodimus, Misfire, Cyclonus, First Aid, and Drift

Honestly with a mold as subpar as the last Hot Rod mold it's really time for an upgrade. Brainstorm and Misfire feel like they could be remolds of one another and the Scavangers were heading back to Cybertron. Cyclonus is a key character in MTMTE and it's likely he'll be an important part of this arc, First Aid is kind of a wild card. I'm not sure where it came from but I have a good feeling. Drift mostly because I have a feeling he's the friend Rodimus calls.

My wants that I don't think we'll get? Rung, Swoop, Chromedome, Smokescreen, Getaway, Bob, and Sky-Byte. I think of those though I think Rung is most likely and I could really see him getting a toy. Chromedome is most likely out due to Funpubs making him, and well Swoop is a Dinobot and Bob, Smokescreen, and Sky-Byte are incredibly minor character. I could see Getaway getting a figure too if he ends up being important. I'd really like owning both him and Skidz together even if I don't know the full nature of their relationship at the moment.

 

What I would really like would be a two-pack of Arcee and Rodimus, both Deluxes of course, and Rodimus be maybe a head taller as the old Deluxe, but NOT shorter.

The rest I want is probably in most ways the same as everyone.


Although I wonder... if Hasbro releases a new Rodimus, if I end up buying two new Rodimuses. One that Hasbro releases and later Takara brings the better paintjob and I think to myself "Damn, that's so much better" and I have to buy yet another one

There was a rumor a little while ago that there was going to be a mtmte rodimus which was the retooled into mtmte drift

Also with Jhiaxus bringing a Metrotitan, and Shockwave now having "so totally not dark energon you guys" I suspect a redecoed Metroplex as a sort of Undead Metrotitan.

 

Question given what we have seen from the roll call .should we expect cyclonus and nova prime ?

 

Cyclonus already has his Universe toy so I dobpt that hasbro would do another one because of how minor of a character he is in the eyes of the fandom/general audience.

Nova Prime I really don't see as a making it to the toys because comic-originated characters take quite a long time to get made into toys (I mean look how long it took us to get Straxus and we still don't even have a proper Impactor)

 

Jetfire had a good fig already and this seems to be the year for obscure characters ( looking for hope lol )

 

I know Arcee, Chromia and Wingblade are confirmed, while Arcee and Chromia haven't been revealed as yet.

Rung would be nice, but I don't know how they'll make a Transformer who turn a club.

Lockdown is a almost easy one, just reissue the NEST ROTF mold

A MTMTE Rodimus would be great, even if he's a Voyager to show he's more prominent, ditto on Ultra Magnus

Brainstorm is confirmed, as a Voyager, though I think we'll see him a Botcon, if they don't sneak him out when the Movie figures are made

I wand a Legends class Brawn, Huffer, Pipes....

 

I wouldn't say that Cyclonus is a minor character. At least to the fans.

 

I think Cyclonus has a chance, or at least I hope he does. I don't think he's a minor character at this point. He's shown a lot of character growth and I think his MTMTE design is different enough to warrant a new toy. He's also proven to be a pretty helpful bot during Dark Cybertron. A lot of things wouldn't have been possible without him I think. I'm not a fortune teller though, so I can only go off my own compass which is part opinion. lol.

If anything, I hope the movie means a new IDW Drift. I know the odds are against him generally speaking, but I think Pharma seems like a possibility in the near future. I don't want to say any spoilers from the comics, but I think he'll be important in the future. Not sure these two tie into Dark Cybetron really though..

A new Ultra Magnus figure is long overdue, but like Rodimus I don't feel like it's easy to determine if they'll get new figures. In general, I feel like Hasbro is really hard to predict and comic characters are up in the air. If back in 2012 someone had told me in the next two years I would get Rhinox, Waspinator, and Armada Starscream I would have said you were crazy. So I honestly don't know what to expect anymore. So I just expect anything? Maybe? lol.

Going off what who we've gotten already, who are major characters in DC, and who are the most reoccurring.. These would be my top choices for future IDW/DC related figures.

Go back and look at the the roll call for every issue of DC released so far and compare that the releases (and upcoming) since the IDW Generations started. I don't think we'll get everyone, or maybe no one that I listed, Idk, but I think it's logical.

 

I'd agree we'll probably see close to everyone on the roll call pages.

Still, I'd like to see rung, though I doubt Hasbro would ever make him, and if they did, he most likely wouldn't turn into a hittin stick.

 

I honestly doubt that but it would be insanely sweet if we did.

There really are so many character that need to be properly redone.
