"Plus One" and "Thirst" are two episodes that satisfy Vangelus's Knock Out Equation. Will Aaron and Omegus feel the same way? Listen, and find out.

Same here. I'm going to listen now.

I still keep feeling that Prime has good episodes and bad episodes, and that whilst these two are good, they tend to be like the other good episodes in that they still have elements I don't like.

For instance, I really liked Thirst but was almost disappointed that they didn't just end Airachnid there. And there's Plus One, which was a great episode, with some absolutely God-awful dialogue, especially in the first 5-10 minutes, where it sounded like they were trying to spout as much nonsense as possible in as little time as possible.

I really enjoyed the podcast but for the outro I was kinda hoping for a "We are PRIME knock-OUT"

We discussed this in the Prime forum. But I feel really worth noteing here that the starscream and Knockout conversation is really cleverly lifted from the One between Optimus Prime and Arcee way back in Scrapheap! The wealth of references in thirst is staggering.

Great primetime, as usual :)  On an interesting note, i was linked an article written around the end of season two of an interview with one of the producers of the show. The producer talks about having planned three seasons worth of storylines out, but mentions being unable to do self-contained episodes, and burning through most of the ideas of the planned three season by an early point in season two. they also reiterated that they were going forward with the remnants of those plans before the beast stuff came in (which, admittedly, we knew already, but i for one didn't know that they had exhausted their previous plan). Knowing that now, you can kind of see where that shift happened and where those ideas started to run out.

I'm partially frightened nobody was really overly weirded out by Starscream and Knockout's 'moment'

Nice ep. Just wanna throw in that I for one, would be fine if Soundwave never speaks. Some mysteries are better off unsolved. It keeps the observer wanting. It's sort of a Snake Eyes kinda thing.

Regarding Knockout being controlled by the humans, I always figured that the interior of a Transformer moved in conjunction with their vehicle mode not so much involuntarily, but similar to the way one might unconsciously swing their arms when walking, ie; an unconscious response to a conscious motion. It stands to reason that, given user input on the unconscious side, the surprised/flustered Knockout would "go with the flow" of his body before he realized what was going on.

It could definitely work like that. But I like to think that the Scan of an altmode entails emulateing all its functions. Not just the ones that are convenient for a facade.

You don't have a steering wheel ;)  haha even that moment caught me off guard though but I can believe that it was just knockout being more like a car. Sometimes you just got to believe prime logic as it is I guess, or otherwise just stay with the fact you can't say it's not possible at least :)

These episodes take the trophy for Getting Crap Past The Radar as TV Tropes puts it. Thirst was very enjoyable.

    Re: Knock Out.

You could think of it like this. Arcee made a point out of stating she doesn't know how a motorcycle works. Also in a cybertronians home environment, Cybertron, there likely aren't surperflusous systems like a steering wheel in the vehicles they scan. So it is logical to assume that the scanning process isn't smart. It doesn't look at what is what, it just copies what is present. Thus Knock Out and the other bots have complete vehicle modes without having to disect the vehicle and potentially remove an imortant item. If say Arcee had the ability to modify the vehicle form during the scanning process she could remove a piece aesthetically that would render the vehicle useless. So it makes sense for the system to be dumb and simply copy the source verbatim.

Now for the specifics of that situation, Knock Out doesn't have people inside him... ever really. He probably forgot about the wheel. The event probably caught him off guard.

Yes I am filling in my own explanation but it isn't that much of a stretch for me personally.

Also, I really wish my tablet had a spell checker...

If you are into shows that have flesh eating people who still have a personality in them I highly recommend checking out The Fades - only 6 episodes but very well done.
