sorry for the double post but

    GOT MINE TODAY.

this toy is amazing... love the p-37.5 mode, and the robot mode is amazingly posable. i'd love to see someone skilled in shapeways make a new pair of wings that's a decent length.

I kinda like the sort wings, at least in robot mode. They give the impression of gun holsters. I don't think they'd quite work if they were any larger.

yeah, he told me, i can't wait to see how they look.

that's the only problem i could see, but the wings are thing enough they could probably hinge in half and not really get in the way.

i don't really care for this guy's guns in vehicle mode, since everywhere you put them they'd shoot his props out...

Actually, the old propeller fighters had a "synchronization gear" that prevented them from shooting out their own propellers.

In WWI yes, Because the airframes were too weak to mount guns anywhere besides the main fuselage, which made shooting through the prop a necessity, thats why they made the interrupter gear, or gun synchronizer by Fokker. By WWII The Airframes were strong enough to mount guns far away from the props on the wings, Then they had to worry about convergence.

As for where to put his guns...I really like using the 2 screw holes on the main fuselage. It puts the guns between the props, and looks sweet.

PK showed me they work here..

The guns look pretty nice there, actually. May have to try that next time I transform my Highbrow.

And thanks for the clarification about the guns.

And that custom is simply gorgeous.

man, the screws on this guy's missiles are tight. they cracked the plastic on my screwdriver when i tried usncrewing them...

still diggin' this guy, his proportions are really good for posing him like a rock-em-sock-em robot, uppercutting bludgeon...

anyone else think this guy couldd be voiced by christopher walken?

I thought this toy looked terrible when I 1st saw it but it turned out to be one of the best Transformers made within the past 5 years. Actually, much of the Hunt For Decepticons line was pretty good, that line(and ROTF by association) was the zenith of movie figures and in some ways, Transformers in general, because aside from the MP's, Transformers Generations 2011 and Transformers Prime First Edition, everything else has felt substantially cheaper. Only now does it seem that figures are going back in the right direction imo(bigger Generations voyagers, et al).

Anyways, I liked this mold so much that I even bought the GDO Powerdive retool with the new head. I like Highbrow a lot. The backstory made sense. I imagine him to be one of Jetfire's old buds, a fellow Seeker who had his glory days in WWII but decided to retire in a museum so the Decepticons would have difficulty finding him and so he could just rest because he was an old man.

Anyways, interestingly enough, HFTD Highbrow, ROTF Jetfire, ROTF Breakaway/Thrust and ROTF Mindwipe in addition to ROTF Starscream all have alt modes either based on or inspired by Lockheed Martin designs(P-38, SR-71, F-35B & F-117 respectively).

I just picked up a loose, but mint Highbrow yesterday at the grand opening of a new toy/video game shop called Retro Reboot. I really like his WWII plane. The transformation is fairly creative. The headsculpt is just great! I didn't know about the flip down flight mask until I watched peaugh's review. That was icing on the cake. REALLY cool figure. My only problem now is that I want an RTS Lugnut to be his rival.

I keep hoping someone will make wing extenders for him (ideally ones that double as melee weapons) as the very short wings are the only thing I dislike about the mould.

I see the whole front as one big wing that goes through the engines/propellers and fuselage. I can also see what you're saying about wanting longer wings sticking out of the sides. That would be cool if someone made that. Still, it's a really cool looking figure.

I cannot take credit for this.

My buddie, The famous long time veteran of all things custom,PLOWKING, made this from an old airplane model, and gave it to me to paint up. He dyed it for a night fighter look, but the wings are great. Only problem is the model kit did not have recessed panel lines like high brow.

some one could easily make a set of wings, each wing is 2 pieces, unscrew the one screw that holds the rockets, put top wing on, put bottom wing on to sandwich the OG wing, and them place the missiles and original screw in to hold them together and still use the rocket rack he has.

The small wing may look funny, but if you look at the plane and focus solely on the fuselage and the wings... Mentally block out the 2 "tail wings", and you'll the wings are accurately in scale with the plane. It's the double rear fuselages that make them appear too small.
