    I...

...actually don't mind these too much.

Sure, the Megazord-ey look they have going for them is a tad offputting to me, but otherwise they're not that bad looking. And with the gimmick they have going for them, like Blitz said, something has to give. As advanced as toy engineering is nowadays, there's no way they're going to be utterly flawless in all five modes. This is an insanely ambitious project, and while it might not look like the greatest thing ever, I at least applaud Takara for giving this their best effort.

I'm probably not going to get these guys, but at least they had plenty of thought put into them.

And you were a minority. Like I said though it's just more pronounced in Japan. To the point that they won't make bad guy toys period. But everywhere across the planet, for a boys toyline women and bad guys are low sellers.

Many months down the road, somehow I got the feeling some 3rd party co is gonna clean up this mess & make some add-ons or upgrade parts to beautify the look of all these robots lololololol :D

Yeh I thought the legs would be too thin. And this proves it. But I'm not cancelling pre-orders. it still looks interesting enough for me too take a stab at.

Okay, so the three bots combined look like they are staked up on-top of each other and look way out of proportion, especially due to the elongated legs of the third member who make up the lower legs, but if I combine any two robots, esp the Police car and Fire Engine, maybe it wont look so bad? :lol

Wasn't there a 3rd combiner to go along with the Ninja and Samurai team?

Why do I dislike these combiner modes so much ?? Skinny legs, over size bad proportion in combined modes, lots of back kibbies in individual modes... Glad I am not a completist... these are just so Yuck !!

I respected the concept... but the execution fails miserably ... glad I am not a Japanese diehard TF kids...

Wow. They look kinda lame in combined mode but as separate robots they're still awesome. I'll probably still get them.

i imagine their connectors are all the same, so theoretically you could buy any 3 of the six to mix&match the combined modes, or buy 3 of the same guy and build a giant robot composed of itself. i liked to combine two of the same energon molds just to make a giant silly looking, clunky version of itself. come to think of it, if the connectors are the same, you don't even really need the middle torso guy.

any one wanna buy both sets to try the mix & match out?

Heres my argument on the proportions, all of the individual robots have a vehicle mode, a robot mode, and three different ways they combine with the others in their team. So something is going to have to give on them and the designers were trying their best with what the toys had to do. Besides not all combining toys have to have perfect human proportions, I mean look at the Sentai/Power Rangers Mechs/Megazords, not all of them have exact proportions either. But that is MY two cents on them and I will say that the one with the jet on top is kinda the weakest out of the three combos.

With that said the proportions don't bother me as much as other people and I like the Brave series like design and looking forward to buying them someday.

I don't really think they are afraid in this instance. The preds from BH are getting new decos and new heads in most cases. They're the ones that are supposed to be the bad guys. Takara probably should have chosen a different color scheme for shark, but other then that nothing really says "hey I'm an evil combiner". Not really sure why people keep thinking that.

That said man the police car makes for one bad pair of legs. It's like he's not wearing pants and is walking around in slippers. :lol  From the waist up they aren't bad, but aside from the jet they just don't work as legs. SO far the silhouettes make it seem like the second team work a bit better, but then again.....

If I do get the Ninja team, I may kitbash them into Predacons anyway. As for the Samurai team, i'm gonna keep my pre-order and I might just stick with one of the combined modes.. I kinda concur with alot of what you guys are saying about the individual figures do kinda suffer, just for the sake of a rather skinny combined mode (or 3 in this case). If these guys use some form of universal connection for the combined modes, then that may help a lil..

As and when I get them, I might try n do a vid review..

It's a little early to say that the fiction is lacking. I mean, it probably will be, but we don't know yet. They might surprise us.

Really had hoped to like these guys. But with each new set of pictures they become less worth the price to import. Ah well.

Was wondering when someone would post the pic from the magazine. Looks better than SOME of the AM combos they've tried to pawn off on us...

So another expensive, garish regression I can pretend never happened?

Good. Lots more money saved for stuff that does matter.
