It's an entirely different truck. Many, many differences.

 

New Bay Optimus is probably going to smash into it, same as how Bay Bumblebee smashed up the old VW Beetle in the first BayFormers movie.

 

I am not surprised if that is not Optimus, I am thinking, maybe Rodimus.

 

I think this truck will work for me... see its his face.

 

Kinda has a Bulkhead face  

 

It's not as sleek as the original or bulky enough for me to expect something out of it. I'll wait until they reveal the robot mode before saying something positive about it.

 

I hate the movie verse, but that truck is pretty awesome.

 

That's kind of like saying a Corvette is a Ferrari Enzo with a slightly rounder front end. They're as different as can be, while still being a "North American conventional semi".

 

Pretty sure it's Optimus.

 

Oh sweet, can't believe I didn't see that yet. Probably unintentional, but that looks like Optimus' face!  

 

Now we know what Optimus has been doing with all those faces he's been taking.

 

I was worried they removed his lower clearance lights, but they are clearly visible here.

 

I actually wouldn't be surprised if it was intentional. They do have some very clever designers on these films.

That's quite an unusual chrome bumper to go with, and the blue split down the grill seems very deliberate.

It'll be interesting to see if any of this is echoed in how they redesign his head.

 

Optimus Prime seems to have beef up for it's vehicle mode but i do not wish to see a beef up robot mode.

Are...you...kidding ME?! Optimus was a Peterbilt. Always will be. This isn't Optimus Prime... this is Rodimus Prime with Optimus's flame job!! I can't wait for Bay to leave Transformers.
