What just repainting in black, grey and purple? Since BWII BB is a repaint of G2 Dreadwing it's complete no brainer for a future Botcon set. Throw in Dreadwind and Gigant Bomb and you've got a winner of a troop builder set. In fact the BWII BB is a reuse of the cancelled G2 Megatron repaint which is how we end up with Megatron as a stealth bomber in the first place!
And I'm saying a new mold (a hypothetical Voyager Megatron) can only replace another new mold. A new mold cannot replace a remold of a previous toy. It doesn't work that way. So two new molds and four remolds.
We need BB, Gigant Bomb and the RID deco scheme as future repaints. I wonder if his personality is based on his Prime incarnation?
Nobody is a fan of the character Dreadwing. Not really (the G2 commercial on the other hand is pretty memorable). He only has two toys, one being a Japanese repaint of Voyager Mindwipe. He has barely appeared in comics or has done anything of any worth. But this new toy should make more people fans of the character. Hasbro don't expect only existing fans of the character to get the toy.
I hate to be the one to say it, but does anyone else kinda see a bit of Depthcharge in the headsculpt? Other than that, he's another B-O-S toy.
Based on his recent appearance in the RID preview I would say no. He seems like your basic Decepticon grunt based on his few lines of dialog. I'm a fan of the character, or rather the original toy anyway. He was my favorite toy as a kid, and still remains one of my favorites today. But yeah, he's never really received characterization, the G2 comics unfortunately made him an upgraded Darkwing rather than a new character as he was intended.
i have my RID dreadwing/g2 bomber figure with my classics already. and it still looks pretty good with them. since they are that well made. not sure why i'd need this lol
This guy will fit in nicely with the likes of my Generations Thunderwing, Skullgrin, Darkmount, Sky Shadow, Powerdive, Lugnut et cetera.
I was sort of hoping this would be more of an homage to G1 Dreadwind, since I'd like to get a Classics-style Dreadwind for my collection without paying out the ass for the BotCon 2007 GoD version. I don't have any particular interest in G2 Dreadwing, so there's not much incentive for me to pick this up. That said, if the mold gets good reviews, I may pick up this repaint if I see it at retail just to get a copy of the mold.
I'm sure I'll get one either way but oh how I hope this has a faithful G2 paint job. G2 Dreadwing was one of my favorite TF's when I was younger.
Looking closer at Pax, I wouldn't be surprised if they made an Ironhide out of that mold or the Trailbreaker one.
Since I'm a Dreadwing fan (Thanks TFP) I'll buy this. plus a G2 Chahrtcer is a plus bonus..so long as they don't realese an G2 colored variaetn of the Stealth Bomber MEagtron...God Help us if they do that.
