I just hope the toyline is vibrant, fun and doesn't have me bored after a week of owning them.

Because this is where ROTF and DOTM ultimately failed as a toyline for me and why i still like the First Movie Line better.

What do you feel was the difference between the first toyline and the others that made the first "vibrant, fun and doesn't have me bored after a week of owning them" but not the others?

Not saying your wrong to feel that way, hell none of the movie toy-lines garbed me outside of an abstract appreciation for the engineering, just curious.

I'm beginning to think you're the 7 year old. I'm not even going to address the general backpeddaling in your post... But there's no way you watched Transformers Animated the complete series, unless you bought some sort of bootleg.... being that Season 3 has not released on DVD. If you were to judge the series off the first 7-10 episodes, then maybe I could see your point. Being that Animated had more continuity than G1, tho, I don't see how it's anymore or less stupid. You can be condescending all you want... But saying someone has to watch something to dislike it doesn't even make sense... Some people wrote the movie off soon as the first robot was shown.

Being that you can't explain any reason WHY the writing is bad ("it's terrible", it has bad writing, etc etc) none of this gives any reason why. You can't criticize something as being bad or poor with no examples why. Praising Primes writing and bashing Beast Wars writing? That's just... different. Not to mention that you said "none of them were good." So you are entertained by bad programming? I guess that goes to my point of the movies being poor quality.

I never said you couldn't like something with bad writing. I just stated I like wrestling, and the writing on there is consistently bad. Typing a word capitalized and bolded still doesn't show that you can use your skills of reading comprehension.

Anyone who can enjoy the movies and not Animated OR Beast Wars is...unique. Especially since Animated was probably the closest to G1 with .
continuity we'll get for about another decade, and Beast Wars elevated Transformers to something with SOME level of drama and tension.

It's funny how you criticize someone for doing something while doing it. I never said you weren't a fan. Maybe you should take your own advice, and stop putting words in my mouth. Thank you for continuing to imitate my posts as well. Really shows I'm getting to you. Grow up guy.

When they say new designs for the returning robots, does anyone think that the returning character's robot modes and vehicle modes are going to look like something like the Beast Hunters toy line?

And now your friendly, biweekly reminder that every TF show is special in it's own way.

Give them solid shelled body structures like G1, Alternators/Binaltech, or designs from Pacific Rim. No more broken glass/piles of metal scraps designs please.

While I have absolutely no idea what sort of look they are striving for this time I'm guessing it's not going to be like the Transformers Prime Beast Hunters look. The show is on it's last season so by the time the movie comes out it will have been over for a while. After the trouble of selling Prime and Bumblebee when the movie and cartoon characters looked too much alike I'm guess Hasbro's input would be for something different so kids will have a good reason to buy Prime and Bumblebee all over again.

I'm all for designs that look more solid, armored, and with more color I just don't know that a Transformers Prime look is what the parties involved in the production would want. But there is a chance my guess could be totally wrong.

Did Micheal Bay literally just say "I'm not a Hollywood guy."?

I counted all my Movie Autobot toys and I've got at least 30 to 31 (if I pretend my Prime FE Bulkhead is a movie figure). Let's hope there are lots of new Autobots.

I really don't like over complicated figures that i can not remember the transformation to, Many of the figures have issues with balance. I just don't have fun with them is all.

Ahhh thanks. Yeah what I saw from online reviews the transformations were complex enough to frankly hurt their action figure play value (Characters driving/flying up transforming and then fighting each other type thing seemed like it would hard for even adult to do much less a kid) leaving them better suited for display pieces/acting as puzzles.

Bay, seriously, your latest TF film got a 36% rotten tomatoes rating ... and you're worrying about someone f*&*ing it up?

Then again, it *could* go down to 1% ...

Whatever, just kill some nameless Decepticons that won't even say one line of dialogue. The fanboys will still call your shitty movie a masterpiece.

Seriously, must be an american thing, cause I can ask ALL of my friends what RT all all I will get is a blank stare, followed by a "What?"

Who cares if people don't know it? The fact remains that casual I-go-to-movie-for-the-boom-booms and Optimus-Punisher fans are the only people who like the BayFormers. Critics and people who actually care about plot, solid character development (and humour with SOME quality) think the movies suck.

Well you know anyone who dislikes the design will blame Bay personally, so he may as well take the credit too.

This is how this works in movies :

The director will come to the art department either with some ideas or with a 'show-me-what-you-can do' attitude. They go off and churn out concept work, then present the results and get feedback for changes. Some are discarded, some modified. The final pieces are signed off BY THE DIRECTOR.

How much artistic influence the director in question has on this is defined by their own personal skills, but make no mistake - things look the way they do because the director said 'YES'. The Transformers look the way they do because Mr Bay likes them like that.

Personally speaking, I think the man is a complete artistic void and I wish he'd just STOP making films. However, a bazillion dollar box office says that is sadly never going to happen.

I nearly choked on my beer and peanuts too. I'd say in the last 10 years, his *cough* 'style' of movie-making has almost defined the place.
