Problem is, at toy fair, most of the figures are hand painted. Once they hit retail, they tend to not be what was displayed. A prime example is FOC Sideswipe. When that line was shown off (maybe it was SDCC or Botcon last year, can't quite remember), he looked really good. Once it hit retail, he was pretty underwhelming.
So much of that is light and the glossiness of hand paint versus the matte of molded plastic. Very few paint apps are removed/ditched between reveal and production.
Hasbro better do same good job as per what they have displayed at the toy fair or else we will be so disappointed with the paint job.
From what i understand this lever on the back of Metroplex head controls the eyes, (and im just guessing here, but i think the lever controls the head in turret mode and seeing the back of his head is transparent red it probably lights up )
Those are alt mode close ups (you can tell in teh first pic), so I assume that's how its supposed to be in that mode. Also, freaking love the little targeting detail that's been scupted in there.
Yeah, that targeting screen definitely helps sell it as a turret and not just a robot head tipped forward. Gotta get a little Legends figure posed up there manning the turret. Maybe Bluestreak, he's a gunner isn't he?
There is a picture of him from the box. Hasbro is keeping that one under wraps for whatever reason, though. News story with the box picture is here: Generations Scamper Image - Transformers News - TFW2005
Pretty pointless given they're in Hong Kong and you'd be paying shipping. Might as well get the Takara version at that point.
So when does the Hasbro version go on pre-order? I'm tired of being teased and am ready for the main event itself.
Yeah, really. Who cares what it's called? I mean, did anyone buy RotF Bludgeon and not use him as a stand-in for G1/Generations Bludgeon?
